adidas' Ultra4D Dares to Be Bold With "Core Black/Solar Red" Colorway
adidas has given its Ultra4D plenty of makeovers, from menacing triple black variants to a couple of standout collaborative looks from the likes of Packer and Social Status, and now the fan-favorite has dropped in two somewhat bolder colorways.
First up is the “Core Black/Solar Red” offering, which combines the Primeknit upper of the legendary UltraBOOST and its signature cage detailing with a printed sole unit made from light, oxygen, and resin. The upper is actually a variant of Primeknit, dubbed Primeblue, which sees high-performance recycled materials combine to craft an upper made in association with Parley Ocean Plastic, as a result making this shoe partly sustainable inline with adidas’ green-thinking future.
The upper comprises a weave not too dissimilar to the recent “Core Black/Carbon” pair that just dropped, but now features a “Solar Red” cage unit that makes up the Three Stripe-encompassing lace unit and heel cup. On that heel, you’ll find Ultra4D branding in black, while more red elements can be seen on the sock liner, peeping out on the collar and the tongue’s inner. Lastly, a hit of red branding graces the tongue.
In contrast, adidas also introduces the “Core Black/Cloud White/Carbon” pair, which sports the same construction as the former pair. This time around, “Cloud White” has been used to show the detailed contours and weave patterns of the Primeblue Primeknit construction, while “Carbon” highlights the lace cage and heel cup.
This pair is also rounded off by a blacked-out 4D sole unit that’s complemented by a matching black outsole. Take a look at both of adidas’ new Ultra4D colorways above, and pick up either colorway from adidas’ website now. The sneaker retails at $200 USD apiece.
In other news, Blondey McCoy and adidas Originals have teamed up on a new Superstar, this time around dropping in “Starlight Blue.”
