Meghan and Harry latest – Duchess 'glad to be home' in Los Angeles as mansion linked to Russian 'Scarface oligarch'

MEGHAN MARKLE revealed that it's "good to be home" in America after spending during time in UK with Prince Harry.

The Sussexes moved to Canada before heading for Los Angeles prior to the coronavirus pandemic with their son Archie.

But Meghan told at The 19th Represents Summit via a video call that "it was just so sad to see where [America] was in that moment" upon returning.

"To come back and see the state of affairs at the onset if I'm honest it was just devastating."

But they have been told they 'should be more careful' when buying properties after their new home in Santa Barbara was bought from Russian 'Scarface oligarch' Sergey Grishin.

Grishin, 56, has been accused by his ex-wife of launching a three-year "campaign of terror" during a legal battle.

Ms Sulkess claims he made "numerous death threats" to her friend and his ex-wife Anna Fedoseeva – while hiring a "hit man" in an attempt to "kill them" – courts papers reveal.

Grishin denies all claims, calling them "false and highly defamatory".

  • MEGHAN RAVED ABOUT HER 'LOVE' FOR SANTA BARBARA SIX YEARS BEFORE MOVE

MEGHAN Markle raved about Santa Barbara six years before splashing out on her £11million mega mansion with Prince Harry.

Back in 2014, former actress Meghan gushed about a stay she had in Santa Barbara on her now-deleted personal Instagram page.

She wrote: “Thank you @bacararesortsb for a wonderful stay santabarbara californialove.”

The photo featured a dreamy shot from the five-star Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara, featuring its pool and the ocean in the background.

  • ROYAL STAFF MEMBER WHO 'WAS INVITED TO MEGHAN & HARRY'S WEDDING' ARRESTED

A MEMBER of the royal household was arrested after a vice admiral's medal disappeared and turned up on eBay.

The Companion of the Order of the Bath medal belonging to the Master of the Household, Tony Johnstone-Burt OBE was listed for £350.

A 37-year-old hospitality assistant who has worked at the palace for six years was arrested last Friday on suspicion of stealing items from the royal household.

Police were informed when staff began noticing items were missing and the eBay listings were discovered during the investigation.
The member of staff boasted on social media of his invites to the weddings of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May 2018, as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank that October, Mail Online reports.

The man has been bailed while under investigation.

  • MEGHAN AND HARRY THANK TWITTER ACCOUNT THAT TROLLED KATE FOR SUPPORT

MEGHAN and Harry phoned a fan connected to a Twitter account that posted vile abuse about Kate, Wills and the Royal Family to thank her for “enthusiastic support”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the woman that they were “so moved and so happy” after she helped raise around £45,000 for charities they support.

But we can reveal the fundraiser — named as Dani Trin — also uses a Twitter account which has previously posted a string of vile tweets branding the Duchess of Cambridge a “b***h” and a “Karen” and her husband Prince William an “a**hole”.

Trin says she was not responsible for the offensive posts.

Only days before Harry, 35, and Meghan, 39, made their gushing phone call, the Henryscousin account also used by Trin accused the Royal Family of being “nasty, pedophilic, racist”.

Other posts over the past year made sick jokes about Kate being an “anorexic wrinkly hoe”, a “corner plant” and repeatedly called her “Karen”.

  • HARRY AND MEGHAN 'SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL' BUYING THEIR HOME FROM SCARFACE OLIGARCH

The pair "should not be lining the pockets" of the Russian "Scarface Oligarch” they bought their $14 million mansion from after he allegedly launched a three-year “campaign of terror” against two women, one of his accusers has claimed.

Jennifer Sulkess, 32, is currently embroiled in a bitter legal battle with Sergey Grishin who she accuses in court papers seen by The Sun of sending “numerous death threats” to her friend and his ex wife Anna Fedoseeva, “attempting to kill” Anna, 38, and hiring a “hit man” to target them.

The Sussexes recently bought a nine bedroom, 16 bathroom lavish mansion from controversial Grishin, 56, who has also been accused in lawsuits of threatening to chop up Anna “piece by piece” and making a “false police report” against her, causing her to be imprisoned for 10 days before she was released without charge.

Billionaire Grishin denies all the claims calling them “false and highly defamatory”.

Speaking at The 19th Represents Summit via videochat, the actress said she had learned to love being back in the USA.

She told interviewer, The 19th’s co-founder and CEO, Emily Ramshaw her return initially felt “just devastating”.

She said: “To come back and see the state of affairs at the onset if I'm honest it was just devastating.

“It was just so sad to see where [America] was in that moment.”

Traditionally, royal mums – including Kate Middleton – give birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital London before stepping out for a photo on the hospital steps.

According to the new royal biography Finding Freedom, “Meghan never considered giving birth at St. Mary's Hospital in London, where Kate delivered all three of her children.”

And instead, authors of the book, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durrand, reveal the Duchess of Sussex wanted to deliver somewhere “more discreet,” and choose London's Portland Hospital.

  • MEGHAN AND HARRY'S NEW HOME IS LINKED TO BUSINESSMAN ACCUSED OF $20M SCAM

The cut-price mansion purchase is linked to three mysterious businessmen, once accused in court papers of a $20m insurance fraud, The Sun can reveal.

The couple reportedly bought the $14m nine bed home in Montecito, California, six weeks ago from Russian Sergey Grishin – dubbed the ‘Scarface Oligarch’ because he bought the mansion from the movie – who has been accused of defrauding a bank of billions and of threatening his ex-wife, allegations he denies.

The 54-year-old Grishin old was also sued for allegedly trying to gain a $20m life insurance policy through false statements.

Fellow Russian Tim Pinkevich and Israeli national Dovi Frances were also identified in court papers.

However, the case was later dismissed and the three men denied all allegations of misconduct.

The 39-year-old, who is currently living in LA with husband Prince Harry, revealed to Marie Claire in a rare interview: “I know what it's like to have a voice, and also what it's like to feel voiceless.

“I also know that so many men and women have put their lives on the line for us to be heard.”

Authors of Finding Freedom Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand detailed how Meghan’s enthusiasm and generosity in school often gave people the wrong impression.

They write: “Meghan’s willingness to help others and her drive to excel meant she was often deemed ‘fake’ by classmates at school who felt it was impossible for anyone to be that ‘perfect.’”

The writers claim that Meghan also struggled to “fit in” and threw herself into as many activities as possible.

They continue: “Being biracial and not always knowing where she fit in, there was a part of her that just wanted people to see she was great at whatever she did.”

Sergey Grishin, 54, who also owned the famous home used in gangster film Scarface, admitted to robbing banks in the 1990s after the Soviet Union collapsed.

In a taped confession to US authorities, recorded on his private plane, the tycoon painted himself as a “anti-Russian hero” in a bid to land American citizenship, Moscow media reports.

Vanity Fair called her wardrobe at the time a “masterclass in revenge dressing”, and compared her looks to Princess Diana’s infamous little black dress the night Prince Charles did his bombshell interview about Camilla.

Now authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have shared in their Finding Freedom biography how Meghan’s outfits were carefully selected.

They wrote how Meghan’s make-up artist and close pal Daniel Martin had joked she should “go out with a bang” during her final week as a working senior royal.

Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand was released in the UK on Tuesday and features explosive claims about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

A spokesperson for the couple and the authors themselves have insisted the Sussexes were not interviewed for the bool.

But buried in an “author's note” at the back of the book is this admission: “We have spoken to close friends of Harry and Meghan, royal aides and palace staff (past and present), the charities and organisations they have built long-lasting relationships with and, when appropriate, the couple themselves.”

The Duke of Sussex was set up on a blind date with the former actress at Soho House's Dean Street Townhouse in 2016.

And while new biography Finding Freedom revealed the couple were quickly smitten with each other, it said Harry, 35, had already “scoped out” Meghan, 39.

The explosive book claimed: “Naturally, both participants in this blind date did their homework with a thorough Google search.

“Harry, who scoped out Meghan on social media, was interested.

“A friend had shown him an Instagram photo of Meghan in the slinky silver mini dress at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards.”

It stated the prince “liked what he saw” – with “newly single” Meghan likewise keen after having joked she wanted to find a “nice English gentleman to flirt with” on the trip to London.

The Sussexes would have had to convince the lender they had the funds for repayment, despite neither having a steady wage.

They also face a £52,000-a-year property tax for homes worth £7.64million-plus in Santa Barbara.

Utility and staffing bills could run into hundreds of thousands while the couple say they will privately fund their £5million-a-year security arrangements.

Meghan Markle may have had secret and agonising bunion surgery in a quest to get perfect feet, a surgeon says.

Meghan went barefoot for a formal Māori welcoming ceremony in New Zealand in 2018 while visiting the country, and a small faded scar can be seen on the inside of her left foot.

“Meghan’s scar is 100% due to open bunion surgery,” Consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon for BMI Shirley Oaks hospital, Kumar Kunasingam, claims.

“While the scar is only 4-5cm long, this type of surgery can be very painful and it can take up to three months before patients can wear heels again.”

Pals of the former royal couple said they christened their Labrador Pula after the currency in Botswana, where they dated.

But Romanians are slating the pair as it means something a lot more crass in their language.

One Romanian Twitter user said: “Surely someone in their group would have Googled Pula to ensure it wasn’t Romanian for penis?”

Another critic of the name tweeted: “Quite a shock to see it in print…!!!” Harry, 35, and Meghan, 39, adopted their black Labrador in 2018 just after they got married but refused to publicly disclose its name.

  • PRINCE WILLIAM'S CHEEKY FIRST WORDS TO MEGHAN WHEN THEY MET

According to the authors of Finding Freedom,Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand , Harry first introduced Meghan to his brother in November 2016.

The authors write: “As she walked up the seven freshly jet-washed concrete steps to Apartment 1A with Harry, she wasn’t thinking about the future king of England but her boyfriend’s older brother, and one famously protective of his younger one, who had experienced more than his fair share of emotional wounds.”

They added: “Meghan thought that William would no doubt want to know everything about her – and her intentions.

“She was self-aware enough to understand that the brothers were wary of women who were more interested in their titles than their well-being.

“And she couldn’t have come from a more different world than that of William, his wife, and most of their friends.

“As soon as William opened the black double doors to welcome Meghan into his home, he said, ‘I was looking forward to meeting the girl who has put that silly grin on my brother’s face.’”

According to the book, the rest of the “no-fuss” first meeting was a breeze and the three of them drank tea together in “the heart of the Cambridge family home: the kitchen,” Express.co.uk reports.

  • PRINCE HARRY BELIEVED HE AND MEGHAN WERE 'THROWN UNDER THE BUS' TO PROTECT THE ROYALS

The Duke of Sussex reportedly fell out with his brother after Prince William urged him to not rush his relationship with Meghan.

And new biography Finding Freedom claims Harry, 35, then got upset as the rift played out publicly – and that people were “working” to make William, 38, look good.

A source told authors Omid Scobie and Caroline Durand: “Harry was upset that it was playing out so publicly and that so much of the information being reported was wrong.

“There had been moments where he felt people working with his brother had put things out there to make William look good, even if it meant throwing Harry under the bus.

“It was a confusing time, and his head was all over the place—he didn't know who or what to believe, and he and William weren't talking enough either, which made everything a lot worse.”
