Prince Louis wears older brother Georges hand-me-down clothes

Prince George and Prince Louis may be second and third in line to the throne, but they are just like ordinary young siblings when it comes to sharing clothes. The youngest child of Prince William, and Kate, Princess of Wales was spotted wearing a shirt that once belonged to his older brother in a never-seen-before picture released today.

To mark what would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 97th birthday, the Royal Family released a heart-warming photograph of the youngest generation of the family and their late grandmother.

Pictured in the sweet image were Prince George and Prince Louis who both wore smart shirts to mark the occasion.

While nine-year-old George looked grown-up in a camel colour checked Thomas Brown “Oliver Shirt” by Trotters, his younger brother was beaming in blue.

Four-year-old Prince Louis was dressed in a collarless striped blue and white shirt which had been worn by his brother when he was almost the very same age.

Despite being taken five years apart, the brothers look uncanny in the separate images of them wearing the shirt.

While Prince George showed off a beaming, toothy smile when pictured in the striped number back in 2017, Louis was on his best behaviour for the family photograph.

The original portrait of George was taken in July 2017 by Chris Jack, to mark the young heir’s birthday.

In the latest image, the younger Princes of Wales, who will turn five on April 23, 2023, looks just like his older brother, with a youthful round face and light hair.

Despite their five-year age gap, the pair appear to have a close brotherly bond, not dissimilar to how Prince William and Prince Harry were in their early years.

The hand-me-down shirt isn’t the only item from Prince George’s wardrobe that has been borrowed by his youngest sibling.

In fact, Louis has been seen wearing his brother’s clothes on several occasions in the past – ranging from coats to jumpers.

In 2020, Prince Louis attended a special pantomime performance with his family while wearing the same Amaia jacket that George was been spotted in four years prior.

The same year, he wore a button-up blue sweater to the private screening of Sir David Attenborough’s film, which his older sibling was first spotted wearing in 2016 during a royal tour of Canada.

Louis and George’s sister, Princess Charlotte has also been spotted in hand-me-downs from her older brother on occasion.

First seen with her older brother during the 2016 Canada tour, Charlotte looked angelic in the same knitted blue cardigan a few years later.

The navy style featured small white buttons and long sleeves, perfect for the spring weather.

As the Prince and Princess of Wales’ only daughter, Charlotte has also been pictured in some older hand-me-downs from other relatives.

In 2017, the young royal wore what appeared to be Prince Harry’s decades-old red buckled shoes during the Cambridges’ royal visit to Poland and Germany.

A similar style moment occurred in 2015 too, when Prince George was pictured in the arms of his father Prince William on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

The then-two-year-old wore the same pastel blue outfit for Trooping the Colour that William did in back in 1984.
