Unemployed mum shares shock of discovering her dog destroyed daughter’s new school shoes & kind strangers offer to pay
A MUM revealed the moment her dog completely destroyed her daughter’s new school shoes – just weeks after term started.
Unemployed Laura Llewellyn-Jones shared a photo of the chewed school shoes on Facebook after seeing the funny side of the situation and was inundated with offers from kind strangers to replace them.
The self-employed, freelance musician was not expecting the outpouring of kindness and said it has "restored her faith in humanity."
Laura had written on Facebook: “Cheers dog. It’s not like they were brand new from Clarks about 6 weeks ago and I’m an out of work musician with loads of money to replace them.”
Laura, and self-employed photographer husband Dave, had returned home from taking their daughter to ballet on Thursday, to find their two-year-old rescue lurcher had demolished the shoes.
The parents were understandably upset, given they had been brand new at the start of term.
Laura said she has been moved as over 40 people have offered to buy new shoes for the young girl.
She has so far politely declined any offers and has instead arranged for some cast offs to be sent for her daughter.
She told Fabulous that the “amazing outpouring of human kindness restores faith in humankind”.
Here is where to buy cheapest school shoes with prices starting from £5.
Meanwhile, savvy mums swear by back-to-school stations to speed up busy mornings, and they are dirt cheap to sort yourself.
