Y/Project and Canada Goose Officially Reveal Asymmetric FW20 Collaboration

Y/Project has unveiled a new collaboration with Canada Goose, adding its signature design language to the label’s classic outerwear. The six-piece collection, which initially premiered as part of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection earlier this year, sees an asymmetric theme used on a number of stand-out pieces.

Arguably the key items are the parks, which have been designed with asymmetric fastenings, twisted proportions and layered hoods. Elsewhere, Y/Project has incorporated sweaters and reversible beanies into the collaborative collection. The pieces are finished with co-branding details, including a Y/Project patch to sit alongside Canada Goose’s signature logo.

Marking the launch of the collection, Y/Project has partnered with photographer Arnaud Lajeunie and stylist Robbie Spencer to create a new campaign. The images are inspired by legendary tales, and the outdoor setting is a nod to Canada Goose’s roots. The full collaboration will then release on October 29 at select retailers around the world.

Discussing the campaign, Y/Project Creative Director Glenn Martens said that it “confirms everything this collaboration stands for: each picture reflects a legendary tale. A story we love. By shooting our jackets on universally known figures, (albeit abstractly) all grounded in our common childhood memories, we celebrate the legend which is Canada Goose. We confirm the timeless place it has in this industry. The campaign has been shot at night, as if we suddenly caught the wolf, wearing his Canada Goose jacket, on his way to grandma’s house, all excited to meet the Little Red Riding Hood.”

In other fashion news, BYBORRE and Descente ALLTERRAIN recently linked up for more technical outerwear.
