Did Harry And William Really Fight At Prince Philips Funeral?
All eyes were on Prince Harry and Prince William at Prince Philip’s funeral back on April 17. The brothers, who have been at odds for quite some time, saw each other face-to-face for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic — and since Harry and Meghan Markle moved out of the UK. Oh, and there was that whole interview that Harry and Meghan did with Oprah Winfrey that aired in March, too. Given all of this, it’s not surprising that just about everyone wanted to see how Harry and William interacted with one another, especially on such an emotionally-charged day such as their grandfather’s funeral.
Upon leaving St. George’s Chapel and walking to nearby Windsor Castle, Harry and William shared a chat, and things appeared normal between the two brothers, according to BBC News. Their chat marked the first time that the public saw them conversing together in well over a year (the brothers did not walk into the chapel together). The fact that they appeared to be getting along was a good sign for anyone concerned about their long-standing rift. However, now two months after that event occurred, something new has been reported about what really happened the last time that Harry was in the UK. Keep reading to find out more.
Prince Harry and Prince William's rift rages on
No one expected Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship to be all rainbows and butterflies straight away, but seeing the brothers together gave many hope that the two would work out their differences and become close once more. However, what just about everyone saw on their television screens apparently wasn’t the full story. In fact, a source told royal expert Robert Lacey that the brothers actually fought during Harry’s trip to the UK for Prince Philip’s funeral. Things may have appeared fine outside, but once the brothers stepped inside Windsor Castle? “They started [quarreling] again,” Lacey wrote in a piece for the Daily Mail.
“There they were, at each other’s throats as fiercely as ever. The rage and anger between those two has grown so incredibly deep. Too many harsh and wounding things have been said,” a source close to the royal family told Lacey. And, contrary to previous reports, Lacey’s source claims that Harry did not have a sit-down chat with his brother and their father, Prince Charles. “There was no reconciliation, and no brotherly sit-down or ‘mini summit’ following Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17. The conflict between Diana’s two bitterly divided sons does not seem likely to end any time soon,” Lacey wrote in the Daily Mail.
