Dr Hilary Jones fans left shocked by his age as youthful throwback photo of the TV star surfaces

Doctor Hilary Jones fans have been left shocked as the television star celebrated his birthday on Friday.

A youthful photo of the star from his mid-thirties has emerged as a result of Doctor Hilary's birthday, and people are in disbelief over his age.

Turning 67 live on Good Morning Britain, the TV doctor left the nation shocked and of the impression that he looks much younger than the age he’s turned.

Appearing alongside Lorraine Kelly as he made the age revelation, Lorraine opted to play out a montage of old photos of the star, as she said: “Tell the nation how old you are because they'll be astounded.”

However before he revealed the answer, presenter Lorraine continued: “You are 67 years old! You're not! You can't be 67. We've got you a cake, but I can't give it to you, obviously.”

As a result, fans rushed to Twitter to share their utter surprise that Doctor Hilary, who has been a comfort blanket for the nation amid the coronavirus pandemic, was turning 67 years old.

“Dr Hilary 67, you’ve got to be kidding!!!!” one person wrote, whilst another added: “HOW IS DR HILARY 67 I JUST WANNA TALK.”

A third, in disbelief, exclaimed: “Did Lorraine Kelly just say that Dr Hilary is 67? SIXTY SEVEN! I want some of whatever he’s been drinking,” and a fourth person added: “Eh…Dr Hilary is 67 yrs old today… he looks good for his age… #lorraine."

Doctor Hilary, who recently shared his support for Kate Garraway as her husband battled coronavirus, added that he’d be spending his day “calling a few people up and enjoying some virtual Champagne.”

Amid the coronavirus outbreak, Dr Hilary has become somewhat of a pandemic pin-up and has been a huge aid with his medical knowledge.

Doctor Hilary qualified in 1976 at The Royal Free Hospital in London and worked for a year, in 1979, as a medical officer on the islands of Tristan da Cunha before becoming a GP for the oil industry in Shetland.

He then worked as a GP in Basingstoke in the early 80s before beginning a TV career in 1986, presenting educational programmes for British Medical TV.

It was then in 1989 that Hilary joined ITV’s breakfast show and stole the hearts of the nation. Since, he’s picked up nicknames including the “Silver Fox Doc,” and “Delicious Doctor,” on social media, and his wife Dee, 49, who is 18 years his junior, couldn’t agree more.

Speaking to The Sun, personal trainer Dee recently gushed over her husband Hilary and said: “I love that people are admiring his looks. Good for him. He’s 67 and still turning heads.

“It’s quite funny because he’s been doing his own makeup and dressing himself instead of having a stylist, so he’s not even looking his best.”

Doctor Hilary and Dee Thresher first started dating in the summer of 2009, following his split from his wife of 18 years, Sarah Harvey.

His first wife was a woman named Anne Marie Vives, who he married in 1977 but divorced in 1987, and his second wife, Sarah Harvey, he married in 1990 before the pair then divorced in 2009.

Altogether, Doctor Hilary has five children; four sons and one daughter who lead private lives.

He took his daughter Sammy along to ITV Palooza! in 2018, and the pair wore huge smile as Sammy stunned in a floor length dress.
