Eamonn Holmes took to Twitter bright and early this morning to give fans a health update ahead of his appearance on This Morning today. The presenter, who has been suffering from chronic pain, got up at the crack of dawn in order to have an hour of physiotherapy to be “match fit” for the live show.
Although the programme does not broadcast until mid-morning, Eamonn was up at 4:30am to get ready.
His morning routine included a cold shower, which is thought to reduce physical pain and in some cases increase tolerance to it.
Later today Eamonn will present This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford.
He shared an update with his one million followers on Twitter.
“Hey, busy day so far ….. 1 hour physio at 4.30 am to get match fit for today’s #ThisMorning …. followed by the Cold shower routine!” he wrote online.
“All this will either kill me or cure me.
“So far, so good though and remember I’m going to be sharing your #ChronicPain stories & advice,” the 61-year-old added.
Many took to the comments section of his post to share their thoughts.
“Have a great day Eamonn I hope the physio went well, Brrrr cold shower yikes sounds brutal, but here’s hoping the cold showers can help!! have a great show today! It’s been snow up here today Aberdeenshire think if you stayed up right now you wouldn’t need the showers Brrrr,” one follower wrote. (sic)
“Physio at 4.30? Wow then a cold shower. You will definitely be awake when you go on air. That or knackered and ready for a sleep,” another added.
A third person remarked: “One day at a time Eamonn, Good luck with this morning, so happy you’re back. Excited to see Steps too xxx.”
“Looking forward to seeing you and Ruth later, hope you won’t be in too much pain,” another added sharing a similar sentiment.
