Jess Wright says ‘COVID has ripped through my family in the past month’ after her parents tested positive

After her dad Mark and mum Carol revealed they had tested positive for coronavirus, Jess Wright has told her followers to keep safe amid the new strain wreaking havoc.
The reality star, who enjoyed a magical date night in a festive themed igloo, took to Instagram to share the devastating effect the virus has had on her family.
Posting on her Instagram stories, the 35 year old said: "COVID has ripped through my family in the past month & it has been absolutely horrendous.
"Please stay safe everyone, stay home, wear masks & also check on loved ones regularly. The fight isn't over for us yet, we are taking every day as it comes and praying a lot.

"The new strain seems to be spreading like wild fire," she explained.
"Thank you for the well wishes to those who have known, for my family members that have been hospitalised by this awful awful virus," Jess concluded.
The former TOWIE star's mum Carol announced she and her husband Mark had tested positive on 1 January.
Sharing a picture of the couple during more happier times while on holiday together, Carol, 60, explained the situation.

"Well what a year this has been. This Christmas and new year I was unable to spend it with my loved ones.
"My hubby and I have got attacked with the virus all over Christmas, my husband is fighting it, I am suffering the worst coughing fits ever," she divulged.
Despite not feeling their best, the matriarch vowed to beat the virus and said that being ill has taught her a valuable lesson.
"But my hubby and me will pull through this.
"It has taught me something in life, never think that this virus isn't real.

"Never take things for granted, always be there for others and it's made me appreciate life so much."
Carol, who was the last member of her family to leave TOWIE, continued: "The little things in life are more important than the big ones. Love and caring is all we need.
"Happy new year to every one and let's hope next year is the best year for every one.
"I just want to thank the NHS for helping my husband hopefully recover this. Fingers crossed x," she ended on an optimistic note.
