John Prine Makes Posthumous Return To Billboard Charts
The late John Prine‘s music has re-entered the Billboard charts following his death due to coronavirus complications on April 7.
According to Billboard, two of Prine’s albums have reached the Billboard 200, while six songs hit the Hot Rock Songs chart.
Prine’s self-titled 1971 debut album re-entered the all-genre 200 chart at No. 55 with 12,000 equivalent album units earned, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Prine’s final album before his death, 2018’s The Tree of Forgiveness, also re-entered the 200 chart at No. 109 with 8,000 units after last charting in May 2018. Tree had debuted and peaked at No. 5, his highest charting album ever.
