As a new mum, your first night out away from your baby could perhaps prove a little daunting.

But for former TOWIE star Kate Ferdinand, enjoying her first evening out with friends since giving birth to her baby son Cree, proved to be ‘fabulous’.

Speaking to The Mirror, the 29 year old said she ‘felt like herself again’. Kate said: “It was fabulous, I don’t know if I’m meant to say that.

“Everyone’s like, I’ve seen lots of people who have been like, ‘Oh my God, you must have missed the baby so much.’ I was like, no.

“I had a lovely time, it was really, really good.”

Kate shares four-month-old Cree with her television pundit husband, Rio Ferdinand.

The pair tied the knot in a dreamy wedding in Turkey in September 2019 after dating for just over two years.

Along with Cree, Kate is also step-mum to Rio’s kids Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12 and 9-year-old Tia after their mum Rebecca died from breast cancer, aged 34 in 2015.

Talking about last month’s time out away from her mum duties, Kate admitted she only had a couple of drinks and was ‘back in the car’ with her blanket and her ‘makeup off’ in no time.

The star mentioned that she was ‘too scared’ to drink any more than that in case of the dreaded ‘hangover’ that might follow.

Kate’s well-earned time off comes just a few weeks after it was revealed that she is feeling more positive about motherhood, after finding her feet.

“She’s feeling more positive,” the source explained. “It’s a lot to do with the great response she got from being so open about how she was feeling on social media.”

Since giving birth to baby Cree back in December 2020, the star has been super open with her fans about the ups and downs of life with a new baby.

Back in March 2021, Kate previously revealed she had cried every day for five weeks after giving birth.

At the time, Kate said: “I was in my own little world, I felt really confused and had lots of anxiety, and I didn’t think anyone understood.”

But according to a source, the former TOWIE babe has turned a corner after she ‘realised she is not on her own’.

“She’s got a really great reaction,” the source continued. “She’s taken all the love and support she’s had from people and she’s realised she’s not on her own.”
