Katie Piper, 37, has been revealed as the host of snack brand KIND’s new three-part podcast series, Kids Live KIND, where kids teach adults how we can all be nicer to each other. The TV personality and philanthropist believes that as we get older, our hectic lives often make unkind choices easier.
It was quite refreshing
It comes as a recent survey found 4.1 million Britons said they were kindest before the age of 10.
Opening up on what she learnt from talking to the children, Katie told Express.co.uk: “What surprised me was their understanding of what foundations we need for life, and how they are rooted in how we treat other people.
“How we treat ourselves, it kind of all goes back to that and what the word kindness really meant.
“I think I probably left that series, went home and went, ‘Do you know what? We actually complicate things so much as adults’.
“What the children were talking about, it wasn’t basic in its format, but it all came back to these key principles of what do we stand for? What are our morals? It was quite refreshing.”
Katie admits she has been lucky throughout her career to have mostly received uplifting messages online, as opposed to trolling some in the public eye can face.
She shared: “I’m really fortunate actually, I’ve got a really good following.
“It’s primarily women, a lot of gay guys, and it is people who have stuff in common with me.
“They will always be sharing their stories so I have quite an enriched following. I’m fortunate that it is 99 per cent good,” the star added.
The activist felt now was the right time for the podcast to be unveiled, after a year of national lockdowns as a result of the coronavirus pandemic highlighted the need for good deeds.
She said: “After a year where we’ve learnt to be more considerate and compassionate to each other, there’s an opportunity to continue this momentum and inspire and encourage us all to Live KIND, especially as adults.
“I’m delighted to be hosting this podcast and discussing a topic I feel so strongly about.

“I hope the insights provided by the children will inspire adult listeners to recognise the power of kindness, and keep it front and centre of everything they do.”
The star is in a relationship with Richard James Sutton. The pair have been married since 2015 and have two daughters together.
Katie has been providing inspirational speeches across the country following her survival of an horrific sulphuric acid attack back in 2008.
She has also become a role model and founder of The Katie Piper Foundation, a charity for burns victims.
In 2010, the star spoke of her story in a moving documentary, My Beautiful Face.
It was watched by 3.5 million viewers and nominated for Best Single Documentary at the BAFTA Awards that year.
The motivational speaker has also written two autobiographies; Beautiful and Beautiful Ever After, followed by her own affirmations book called Start Your Day With Katie.
Since her attack 12 years ago, Katie has undergone over 250 corrective surgeries.
The mother of two is blind in one eye, and needed an operation to prevent the blood vessels from “producing too much lipid fats”.
