Kym Marsh: Coronation Street star left ‘so emotional’ by family message
TV star Kym Marsh received a sweet message from her parents yesterday, which left her feeling “so emotional”.
The 43-year-old actress was so touched by the video message from her mum Pauline and dad David that she posted it online today.
The former soap star, who played the role of Michelle Connor in Coronation Street from 2006 to 2019, previously expressed her sadness at not being able to visit her close-knit family during the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier today, Kym posted an adorable video of her parents dancing around their living room on her Instagram account.
She captioned the footage, which she shared with her 396,000 followers: “I can’t stop watching this!”
The TV star continued: “My lovely mummy and daddy @paulinemarsh08 @daveyboy113 posted this to our family group chat yesterday and it made me so emotional but so happy!”
In the short clip, the casually-dressed couple held each other close as they sang and danced to Neil Sedaka’s 1960s track Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen.
The actress, who is mum to David, 25, Emilie, 23, Polly, nine, and is a grandmother to her eldest daughter’s son Teddy, signed off: “I love you. Miss you guys so much.”(sic)
Users and fans took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts on the family footage.
One user wrote: “Awh kym this is just lovely xx.”(sic)
Another emotional fan added: “Aw… Nearly made me cry too… Beautiful xxxx.”
Following suit, a third remarked: “Just adorable.”

Last month, Kym told her followers she was “gutted” she was unable to see her “hero” father on his birthday due to the COVID19 outbreak.
Paying tribute to the birthday boy online, she said at the time: “Happy birthday to the best daddy ever!!! @daveyboy113 you always have been and always will be my hero!”
“I’m so gutted that because of what’s going on we can’t come visit you today, and that we can’t celebrate with you!”
Ahead of lockdown, the singer, who is currently dating Scott Ratcliffe, 32, showed how close the pair are when she took her father to a glitzy showbiz event while her boyfriend was away on duty.
