Martin Lewis, 49, is stepping into the hosting seat on Good Morning Britain next week alongside Susanna Reid. However, following his dental surgery, the star shared his worries about lisping when presenting.
Martin shared the insight with his 1.1 million followers on Twitter earlier today.
This came after he filmed his first slot on This Morning since his surgery.
He penned: “Phew first @thismorning slot done.
“Hopefully the lisping wasn’t too bad and you could still understand.”
However, his followers were quick to offer their support following his tweet.
One penned: “Fine our end, probably sounds strange for you & feels weird but all good!
“Looking forward to Mon, you’ll get longer to chat then too.”
Another added: “You were great. You always are. Thanks for all the help you give us all.”
“You looked and sounded great,” a third replied. “I think you are more conscious than your audience.”
A fourth fan said to the presenter: “Hope you feel better soon Martin.”
Martin has been opening up about his health battle since he had surgery last week.
He had to have an implant in his front tooth, which meant having an invasive procedure to remove the existing tooth.
The Money Saving Expert admitted at the time he was “worried about the pain” of the procedure.
Then earlier this week, Martin shared how his recovery was going so far.
He penned: “Morning all. Hope you had a great weekend.
“I spent a rather painful one recovering from my dental surgery last week.
“Still can’t talk properly yet, hopefully by Wed, my first broadcasting since (radio 5 show) I’ll be ok to string a sentence together!”
Martin is due to take on the hosting job on This Morning next Monday to Wednesday.
He’ll be stepping into the position, which has been left absent since Piers Morgan exited back in March.
Other presenters have also featured on the show over the past few months, including Richard Madeley, Alastair Campbell and Bill Turnbull.
GMB is yet to confirm whether any of these stars will take over the role permanently.
