Michelle Heaton’s husband Hugh Hanley took to Instagram to show his love and support for her after she entered rehab.
Hugh, the husband of Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton, 41, took to social media show support for his wife, who has entered a rehab facility, after ‘turning to alcohol’ whilst dealing with severe medical issues.
“Through sickness and in health,” the Irish businessman wrote in a caption in a post on his Instagram, accompanied by a picture of Michelle looking carefree at the beach.
The post continues: “No one should ever suffer in silence, but it takes real strength to speak up and do something about it.”
“You are doing your family proud,” her husband’s Instagram caption concluded and was met with hundreds of well-wishes and messages of love and support for Michelle.
Michelle has always bravely discussed her health issues. After discovering she had the BRCA2 gene in 2012, the singer underwent a hysterectomy and double mastectomy to minimise her risk of getting cancer but has unfortunately suffered with after-effects.
In her book 'Hot Flush: Motherhood, the Menopause and Me', the author candidly detailed to readers her experience dealing with early-onset menopause.
In a picture posted to a her Instagram a week ago, Michelle told fans that she was experiencing hair loss, due to her hormones, saying that “[her] hormones had simply made [her] hair snap to touch.”
The mum-of-two entered a rehab facility after "she'd increasingly turned to alcohol as a crutch", according to an insider for The Sun.
A spokeswoman confirmed that Michelle entered a rehab facility, adding: "Michelle and her family kindly ask that you give her the time she needs to get better and their family the privacy at this time, particularly her young children.
"She has the love and support of her family and friends."
Michelle lives with husband Hugh, who she married in 2010, and the pair share two children together, Faith Michelle, nine, and Aaron Jay, seven.
One fan commented on Hugh's supportive post: “Well done @wonderwomanshel we are so proud of you! Sending all our love to the family! You have amazing support behind you don't forget that darl! She is amazing and you all as a family are so strong and supportive.”
Whilst another encouraged both Michelle and Hugh, saying: “Sending so much love to you & Michelle and to all the family she has been through so much even the strongest of women need help she will get through this and come out the other end even stronger good luck Michelle you’ve got this.”
