Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don celebrated his wedding anniversary yesterday and made a sweet remark about married life on social media. Following 37 years of marriage to his wife Sarah, Monty told fans: “It just gets better and better.”

Monty posted a throwback picture online yesterday to mark the special day, which the couple also share with their grown-up son Adam.

Monty and Sarah, who are also parents to son Tom and daughter Freya, tied the knot on July 29, 1983.

Three years ago Adam married his wife Emily on the same day.

The 63-year-old TV star shared a picture from their nuptials with his 652,00 followers to mark the doubly special day.

Alongside a picture of the presenter and his wife watching their eldest son tie the knot, he wrote: “3 years ago on this day Sarah and I were celebrating our son Adam’s marriage to Emily.

“On the same day 37 years ago we were married too.”

One Instagram user took to the comments section to reveal they were also married on the summer date.

“Oh, lovely and what good company we’re keeping! 26 years ago today for us.”

“Happy anniversary!” Monty replied, before sweetly adding: “It gets better and better doesn’t it.”
