New mum Dani Dyer has been forced to hit out at trolls for body shaming her after she gave birth to her son, Santiago.

The Love Island winner admitted that seeing the comments made her “emotional” and can be “tough” to deal with.

Speaking at The Baby Show Live @ Home, Dani admitted she couldn’t bear looking at what people were saying about her. “I try never to look at comment sections because I know as soon as I click that button, I’m going to get hurt,” revealed the 24 year old.

She went on: “I’d just had Santi and I remember seeing some men had commented saying ‘Oh god, she’s huge!’” Clearly fed up, Dani continued to say: “I’ve just had a baby for god sake leave me alone.”

The reality star and daughter of famous EastEnders actor, Danny Dyer, said that she wishes platforms would do more to stop the constant trolling. “I hope that comment sections like that will be taken away to prevent that,” she expressed.

Dani also admitted during the interview that she isn’t as used to being in the spotlight as people might think.

“People think I’m used to it because my dad was in the public eye, but I’m not because it was never me. The comments were never directed to me,” she explained, saying that she’d had her fair share of “highs and lows in the media.”

Dani was also asked how she felt about the mum-shamers on Instagram. “You do get messages from women who aren’t helpful and supportive. And they say things and you’re like ‘I really don’t need to hear that.’”

The mum of one recalled a time she’d put Santi in his car seat wearing a coat and immediately received messages from women saying she’d “suffocate” her baby.

“I had messages from women like ‘You’re gonna make him suffocate. He’s gonna overheat in the car. If you have a car crash he’s not gonna be safe or protected.’ I was like, “Oh my god, why are you even saying that to me.’”

Dani also revealed that she’d had a few women telling her that “breast is best,” but after talking to her friends, she realised that “no one is a perfect mum.”

She added: “It’s nice to hear that because you do get a bit lost in it and start listening to people that you’ve never met. Don’t get me wrong, I love that it’s a community on Instagram. Some women are so lovely and really put a smile on my face but when you’re getting negative stuff and you’re emotional it can be a bit tough.”

Santi is Dani’s first baby with boyfriend Sammy Kimmence and the couple welcomed their son in January.
