NYC Rapper Nick Blixky Shooting Death Possibly Linked to Pop Smoke Slaying

The up-and-coming rapper was found unconscious and unresponsive with at least a dozen gunshot wounds to his torso and buttocks on a Brooklyn street on Sunday, May 10.

AceShowbiz -Another hip-hop star has gone too soon. Up-and-coming rapper Nick Blixky has been shot and killed on Sunday, May 10 in Brooklyn, police have confirmed. The NYC artist, whose real name was Nickalus Thompson, was only 21 years old.

Police responded to a 911 call about a man shot in front of 200 Winthrop Street at around 9:30 P.M. Upon arrival, authorities found Nick unconscious and unresponsive on Winthrop St. near Rogers Ave. in Prospect Lefferts Gardens with “gunshot wounds to his torso and buttocks,” said the New York Police Department on Monday. He’s allegedly being shot at least a dozen times.

He was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police recovered shell casings from the scene but have made no arrests.

Initial reports online claimed Nick, who affiliated with the Brooklyn Blixkys (an offshoot of the Gangster Disciples), was shot by police. His brother, however, debunked the rumors, suggesting that it was the OPPS that killed the rapper.

Meanwhile, police are reportedly investigating the shooting of Nick as being possibly linked to Pop Smoke‘s murder. A source says NYPD detectives are paying attention to social media postings gloating over Nick’s death. “These are without question people of interest,” the source says of the online commenters.

“There’s a chance it could be related to the Pop Smoke killing out west,” the source adds. “A couple of people were talking junk on social media – Facebook Live – about [Nick] being dead. It might be a little bit of a rap war with a gang nexus to it.”

Pop Smoke was shot dead in February during a home invasion at the Hollywood Hills home in California where he was staying. The source claims that around the time of the 20-year-old “Welcome to the Party” rapper’s death, there were similar online postings. “His rivals were making light of his death,” the source notes.

Nick, who lived about four blocks from he was shot, was set to release his first mixtape “Different Timin” on June 3. Just hours before his shooting, he promoted the upcoming set on Instagram, excitedly writing, ” ‘JUNE 3RD ‼️ I’m dropping my first Tape ever’ LOCK IN THE DATE … ‘ DIFFERENT TIMIN ‘ ( COMMENT A IF YOU READYYYY ).”
