He later admitted that he doesn’t believe in soulmates.

Paul added: “To be able to actually end up with your soulmate is a rarity — even to find your soulmate, and I’m not even sure if I believe in that as a concept.”

Express.co.uk spoke to dating expert Nia Williams, founder of date coaching and counselling service Miss Date Doctor, on what Paul can expect dating as a celebrity.

Nia said: “According to studies, relationships between celebrities and those outside the showbiz industry can work and be successful a lot more than we might believe, but there are some things to take into consideration.

“Firstly, Paul needs to identify a date who is genuinely interested in him as a person rather than a celebrity, as there will be will some disingenuous characters who want to be with him simply because of his fame.

“He should observe character and behavioural patterns to ascertain those dates who are genuine and those who are seeking their own fame. “

Nia went on to explain the pressure he will feel to date.

The Miss Date Doctor founder said: “The second thing for him to be aware of is the pressure on the other person of dating someone famous.

“It is imperative that for the relationship to last, his potential partner must have a high level of self-esteem, trust and confidence due to the substantial amount of very attractive admirers and attention Paul will no doubt receive on a daily basis.”

Nia added the relationship should have a strong foundation for it to last in the spotlight.

She added: “The best person for him to date will be someone who already has a fulfilling life of their own.

“This is essential as Paul will have a tremendous amount of commitments and engagements to attend to, so his partner will need to trust and respect that his particular profession requires a lot of work and promotional activities involving him spending time away.

“Finally, the paparazzi has driven a wedge in many a celebrity relationship.

“It is therefore important to understand that aspects of Paul’s whole life will be closely scrutinised from now on, so the behaviour and background of his partner is important to avoid intrusive or negative stories emerging which could damage his reputation.

“He needs someone supportive and private to respect and protect their relationship; a partner who constantly demands attention will not work well for Paul’s newfound fame.

“Dating a celebrity is not easy, but if both parties are willing to show cognitive empathy to each other’s individual situations, to compromise and show support for each other, it can work.”
