Phillip Schofield and his beloved mum Pat have finally reunited – and it was emotional.

The mother-son duo have always been close, and 58 year old Phillip has really missed Pat, 84, since the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic prevented them from seeing each other.

The This Morning presenter then revealed the situation has finally been rectified as he posted a series of stories on his Instagram page.

“Off to pick up my mum from the station!!” the host said. “First time I've seen her in a year.”

Pat lives in Cornwall, which is hours away from Phillip in his new bachelor pad in London, where he commutes to the ITV studio every day.

Sharing the poignant moment when he first saw his mum, Phillip left his car and headed into the train station to greet her.

Standing with her bags and wearing a face mask, Pat was overjoyed to see her son there to pick her up.

The pair then shared an adorable hug as Phillip gave her a sweet embrace.

The presenter also joked: “Her majesty has arrived,” when he watched Pat standing by the barriers.

Phillip dressed in a warm white knitted sweater for the outing, as Pat opted for a long grey cardigan and floral print skirt.

It wasn’t long ago Phillip revealed his mum had received both her vaccination doses at the start of this year, so was lucky to be full-protected early on.

Speaking in a segment about jabs on an episode of This Morning, Phillip shared with his co-host Holly Willoughby: “Mum was very lucky actually, she's not a billionaire.

“She's just down in Cornwall. She just happened to be on the list and they called her back,” Phillip continued.

“I think maybe towards the end of the period they might have some left over or whatever, and she got her second vaccine,” the star added.

Having waited for restrictions to ease, the family members are now thrilled to have some uninterrupted time to spend together, and will undoubtedly have a lovely weekend.
