Piers Morgan, 55, has detailed the questions he would pose to Meghan Markle if she agreed to sit down with him for a more “difficult” interview than the one she had with Oprah Winfrey in the US. The former Good Morning Britain host has been famously sceptical of claims made by the Duchess Of Sussex against the Royal Family, as she sat alongside her husband Prince Harry during a CBS special which aired on ITV last month.
Let me ask you more difficult questions
If he was able to sit and speak with Meghan now, Piers stated he would have “difficult questions” to ask her, while addressing the situation during his interview with Billy Bush on Extra last night.
Piers said: “I would say to Meghan Markle, ‘Look… sit down with me, with your husband, for an equally long interview… and let me ask you more difficult questions about all your claims.
“But let me ask you a wider question, which is this, ‘If you hate the royal family that much, why do you keep your royal titles?
“‘Why would you do that if it’s just not to make millions and millions of dollars?’”
He was also asked if anyone from the Royal Family had reached out following the couple’s interview last month.
Piers said: “I’ve had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the Royal Family.”
He would not reveal if it was senior members of the Royal Family who had communicated the messages.
“I’m not going to go into who it was… but gratitude that somebody was standing up,” he added.
Piers stepped down from Good Morning Britain last month after slamming Meghan and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
He had said that he didn’t believe a word of her interview and slammed her for insinuating that the Royal Family could be “racist”.
Speaking out on attempts made by some members of the public to end his career after disagreeing with his views, he shared: “There’s been an attempt to cancel me.
“There’ve been many attempts like this before, and somehow I remain resolutely uncanceled.”

“In the end, I was required to apologise for disbelieving Meghan Markle, who I don’t believe – and I believe, which is ironic, that you should not believe somebody if you don’t want to.”
After stepping down from GMB it was reported that the Duchess of Sussex had contacted ITV to make a formal complaint.
Piers admitted he was not aware Meghan had contacted the network until he had left.
“It was certainly a very interesting revelation from where I sit, because clearly she was trying to put huge pressure on my bosses to take action against me,“ he added.
57,000 complaints were sent to Ofcom over his comments about disbelieving Meghan.
Piers also shared that his wife Celia Walden and his sons – Spencer, Bertie and Stanley – had also been targeted by abusive trolls.
The outspoken broadcaster shared: “My wife’s always been completely supportive about this, but she hates the online abuse.
“The idea my sons had to be targeted by so-called liberals in a way that was threatening to them, abusive to them is completely disgusting.”
