Carol Vorderman, 60, has paid a sweet tribute on her Twitter account to Prince Phillip, after he sadly died today aged 99. The former Countdown host recalled the late Duke of Edinburgh “flirting” with the Queen when she visited Buckingham Palace “quite a few years ago”.
Carol typed: “I went for a private lunch with The Queen at Buckingham Palace quite a few years ago.
“They were both in their 80s and Prince Philip and she were flirting with each other madly and laughing.
“Theirs was a love and a marriage of more than 73 years. Deepest condolences Ma’am,” she added.
The nation mourned today as the news broke of Prince Phillip’s death after months of illness.
