Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen, 46, recently responded to one of her followers about how she raises her nine children. The Yorkshire Shepherdess admitted a rumour about her not having a television was “total fabrication”.
Amanda is well-known for talking frankly about her parenting style and wanting to raise her children to be independent.
However, the star recently revealed how not everything people think about them is correct.
Yesterday morning, a fan pointed out how her new series of Our Yorkshire Farm is airing repeats on Saturday evenings.
They tweeted to Amanda: “Delighted to see this is also on Saturday nights at 7pm. Thank you Channel 5! Brilliant.”
The Yorkshire Shepherdess then responded admitting “I didn’t know this !!!!”
However, it was a comment underneath her reply which she felt compelled to correct.
Another viewer waded in asking: “Is it true you don’t have any tellies in your home?
“Your children don’t need them for education or entertainment in that glorious place where you live.”
Amanda then corrected her following, explaining how this was “total fabrication.”
She penned to her 158,000 followers: “No, total fabrication. We do have a TV…
“It didn’t work but there was nowt on, now it’s mended.”
Amanda actually posted an image of her and her children watching the television last week when her series returned to Channel 5.

She shared an image of them gathered around the screen with an unlikely guest included in the snap.
Her daughter Clemmy was sitting on her beloved pony Tony in the living room.
The presenter captioned her pic: “Whole family viewing. Tony is watching himself on tv.”
The Our Yorkshire Farm star is also open about her parenting method, speaking about raising her kids in various interviews.
She recently told the Radio Times: “The snowflake generation, they can’t do anything.
“They don’t know anything about how to look after themselves, or a work ethic, all of that has gone out of the window. It’s our fault as parents.
“If you put your child on a pedestal, with no sense of independence, and think you have got to entertain them the whole time, what can you expect?”
She added: “I rebuff swaddling children, because I want to see them go on and do well and be themselves, whatever that is.
“I feel like it is their life and all I do is prepare them.”
Our Yorkshire Farm airs on Tuesdays on Channel 5.
