  • DIER NEWS

Well, it'll be Dier news indeed for Spurs fans as Eric is set to miss the North London derby this weekend.

He has been handed a four-match suspension after an altercation with a Spurs fan in the stands following a match back in March.

An FA statement read: “Eric Dier has been suspended for four matches with immediate effect, fined £40,000 and warned as to his future conduct following a breach of FA Rule E3.

“The Tottenham Hotspur FC player admitted that his actions at the conclusion of a fixture against Norwich City FC in The FA Cup on 04 March 2020 were improper but denied that they were also threatening.

“An independent Regulatory Commission subsequently found Eric Dier’s actions to be threatening.”

  • EDDIE'S APOLOGY

Mikel Arteta has revealed that Eddie Nketiah apologised to his teammates after getting sent off yesterday evening against Leicester City.

However, the Arsenal boss insists he has nothing to be sorry for.

Nketiah mistimed a challenge in yesterday evenings match which led to a red card after referee Chris Kavanagh consulted his pitch-side monitor on the recommendation of VAR.

The Gunner's boss was sympathetic though as he said in this post-match press conference: ''He’s disappointed, he said sorry and he doesn’t need to do that.

''I know when he goes for every single ball it’s because he’s so willing to win every challenge, to be on the front foot in every action.''

  • DON'T GET FRAMED

One fan has had Arsenal legend David Seaman in stitches after discovering a VERY dodgy autographed photo of the former England keeper.

  • JUST TAKE MY MONEY

Arsenal fans are loving the new threads on offer ahead of next season.

The Gunners players have been posing in the team's new tracksuit top, which they will warm-up in next season.

  • GUEN'S OFF

Matteo Guendouzi’s representatives are reportedly in “advanced talks” with Barcelona with the Arsenal star set to make a decision on his future next month.

The midfielder is training away from the first-team after a falling out with boss Mikel Arteta last month.

Fiery Guendouzi was involved in a scuffle with Neal Maupay following the Gunners’ 2-1 defeat to Brighton on June 20.

He has subsequently failed to even make a matchday squad as Arsenal have gone five games unbeaten since.

Reports emerged ten days ago he had brought up the prospect of leaving the Emirates at the end of the season due to his career’s “regression” under Arteta.

Now L’Équipe claims the likes of Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have enquired about him.

  • ALL'S WEL

Watford ace Danny Welbeck scored one of the goals of the season to give the Hornets a much-needed win over relegation fodder Norwich.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker has had an injury nightmare after damaging ankle ligaments in a match against Sporting Lisbon in 2018.

But he has fought back to fitness to work his way back into Nigel Pearson's squad and play once again.

SunSport's resident snapper Dickie Pelham got these incredible pictures of his sensational strike.

  • RED RAGE

Mikel Arteta was left seething as Eddie Nketiah saw red while Jamie Vardy escaped without punishment.

Arsenal boss Arteta put Nketiah on during the second half of the clash against Leicester with his side leading 1-0.

Arteta fumed: “The red card, he [Eddie] cannot see the player and didn't want to hurt anybody. You have to understand he is a young kid.

“It can be a red card but Leicester have to play for ten men after 42 minutes. For one challenge between the 40 and 45 minutes.

“If we review incidents of that type we review them all. It has to be something equal for everybody because it changes the game for everybody.

“If Eddie is a red card for sure the other is a red card.”

  • MASTER OF NUN

Arsenal will have to battle Everton and West Ham for Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez.

The 23-year-old has fuelled speculation he is set to depart this summer by snubbing yet another offer.

AS claims he has “declined to renew” due to making only 12 starts in La Liga this term.

And now the Gunners and Hammers are leading the chase for his services.

The Premier League duo are also joined by the Toffees, who are also weighing up whether to fork out the £27million release fee that is inserted into Nunez’s current deal.

However, it looks far from certain that the centre-back will be arriving in England, despite AC Milan also showing interest.

  • LUCKY VARDY

Mikel Arteta believes Jamie Vardy should have seen red along with Eddie Nketiah.

“I have my opinion, I prefer to keep it like this,” he said after last night's 1-1 draw with Leicester.

“What I am saying is if you review incidents of that type you should review them all.

“If Eddie's is a red card then for sure the other is a red card.

“If (Nketiah) can be a red card then Leicester has to play with 10 men after 42 minutes – that has to be a red card as well.”

  • GOOD MORNING GUNNERS FANS

Arsenal’s Champions League hopes look to be over after they conceded a late equaliser against Leicester.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the home side ahead in the first half.

But Jamie Vardy’s 84th minute strike saw Leicester bag a point to remain in the hunt for a top four finish.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta admits he is desperate to sign Dani Ceballos on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.

The Arsenal boss said: “Yeah, we are talking to the club.

“Obviously we don’t own the player, he’s not in our hands so the clubs will need to have a communication and see what we can do.

“I’m really happy with him, the way he’s evolving, and I love how much he likes to play football – the passion he puts into every training session and every game, you just have to see his celebrations.

“I think he’s evolving in the right way and he’s becoming a really important player for us.

“We have to be open to different situations. And I think the market will give us the opportunity to do certain deals like this [swaps] but at the moment I cannot comment on any of that.”

Finally, Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette could reportedly be on his way out of the club this summer with three European heavyweights interested.

Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are all interested in signing the 29-year-old, according to L’Equipe.

He’s lost his place in the team to Eddie Nketiah, while Gabriel Martinelli is also pushing for starts.

  • BETTER THE NEVILLE YOU KNOW

Gary Neville was caught up in a fierce Twitter row with an Arsenal fan – after calling the Gunners defence “uncoachable”… in November.

Immediately after Unai Emery was sacked, the Sky Sports pundit pointed the finger at the Arsenal back-line.

Still bearing a grudge now in July, one fan took to Twitter to share the current Premier League clean sheet stats – with Mikel Arteta leading a superb charge up the table in 2020.

Looking at the whole season, the Arsenal fan sarcastically captioned the clean sheet stats: “Uncoachable.”

But Neville was quick to react, saying: “Are you bragging?

“You’ve conceded 8 more goals than Sheffield United, 5 more than Wolves and 10 more than Leicester who you play tonight.

“City, Liverpool, United and Crystal Palace also have better defensive records.

“Tony Adams will be proud of you!”

  • OH DANI BOY

Mikel Arteta admits he is desperate to sign Dani Ceballos on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.

“We have to be open to different situations. And I think the market will give us the opportunity to do certain deals like this [swaps] but at the moment I cannot comment on any of that.”

  • TRANSFER TALK

Lille striker Victor Osimhen is waiting on both Manchester United and Arsenal to make a decision on whether they want to bid for him.

The Nigerian star, 21 is set to reject a deal from Napoli as his sights are set on the Premier League.

Napoli had agreed to a £46million fee to sign Osimhen, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A giants, who've endured a horror season by their high standards, were also said to have offered him a monster salary.

Osimhen has quickly emerged as one of Europe's top prospects.

  • TEN CLEAN SHEETS

The 'uncoachable' team has been dubbed worse since their dip in form but they have proved their critics wrong, having ten clean sheet this season.

The North London club are joined by Manchester United with the same amount. Premier League champions Liverpool have 15 clean sheets so far with Manchester City following close behind with 13.

  • TOP FOUR RACE

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea fans are all uniting against Leicester tonight, as the club pushes to widen the gap and get that Champions League place.

  • KIT LAUNCH

Arsenal will be sure to keep Pierre Aubameyang after he starred in their kit launch photos.

However, the strikers future is still up in the air with his contract situation still unresolved.

Aubameyang is said to be holding out for a minimum three-year contract worth £250,000 per week, but also wants assurances the club can match his ambitions, as The Mirror has reported.

Images of three players were used in the post, which also showed Lucas Torreira and David Luiz in some of the latest kit.

  • CABELLOS EXTENSION

Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Real Madrid over keeping defender Dani Ceballos.

The North London outfit want to keep Caballos after he's emerged as one Arteta's key players during their recent revival.

After telling his team to 'take a step forwards', in January, Ceballos has done exactly that, which made the Gunner boss re-evaluate his potential for long term.

Madrid loaned the defender to Arsenal after Zidane gave the go ahead.

He recently scored the late FA Cup winner against Sheffield United and stepped up as Matteo Guendouzi has been sidelined.
