Bride furious as mum and stepdad give £8k wedding fund away to her step-sister
A bride-to-be was devastated when her mum and stepfather had given the $10,000 (£7,672) she was promised for her wedding to her stepsister.
The American bride’s story was shared by a friend a popular wedding-based Facebook group.
It’s claimed that all the children in the family were promised the sum for their nuptials, reports MailOnline.
However, when she asked her parents for her money to plan her wedding she was told it had already been handed over to her step-sibling.
The woman was hurt as her sister had already been given her share prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
Due to cancellations and non-refundable deposits, the step-sister’s wedding had cost more than originally planned, which meant she received £15,345 and her sibling was given nothing.

The woman who shared the tale wrote: “I feel so bad for this bride.
“I personally knew I wasn’t going to be getting money towards my wedding, but if I had known everyone was getting something and then for it to be taken away is awful.
“Especially since it was done twice and the favoritism is awful.”
While her step-sister had not planned on her wedding costing costing so much, Covid-19 threw her wedding into disarray.
It is thought that a whopping 64% of weddings have been cancelled or postponed this year due to the pandemic.
Like many, the step-sister decided to have a reduced ceremony, which was cheaper, in winter.
However, the upset sibling’s mother told her that her step-sister had asked for the cash behind her back and taken it.
The step-father agreed because she and her fiancé were both low-paid jobs.
The couple had decided that it was fair as the author’s fiancee was “filthy rich”.
When the young woman complained she was told she was “petty”.
However, she questioned if the same would have been done if the positions were reversed.
She said: “My step-dad even said that since I'm so petty he's glad he never gave me a cent for my wedding.”
Many members of the Facebook group had great sympathy for the situation.

And another said: “I feel so bad for her!
“I don't even get the vibe that she really cares about the money, it's the fact that the stepdaughter's wedding is apparently more important than her's or her feelings.”
