Chelsea transfer news: The FIVE most likely summer signings as Thomas Tuchel targets new striker

CHELSEA will look to strengthen their ranks ahead of the 2021-22 season as manager Thomas Tuchel seeks to build on his Champions League success.

The German, 47, arrived in January and took over Chelsea's lavishly assembled squad, which received a whopping £200million investment last summer.

But more new recruits are expected in the upcoming transfer window with Roman Abramovich reportedly prepared to spend another £200m.

Here, SunSport take a closer look at the FIVE most likely additions this summer, according to odds supplied by bookmakers Betfair.

Romelu Lukaku – 2/1

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku is Chelsea's most likely recruit according to Betfair, who've priced him at 2/1 to return to Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian, 28, has been in blistering form for Inter this season – scoring 30 goals and providing ten assists in 44 appearances.

He guided Inter to their first Serie A title in 11 years but the club are desperate to balance the books and are likely to accept around £85m for his signature.

Reports suggest Abramovich is particularly invested in bringing Lukaku back to West London, seven years after allowing him to leave for Everton.

Declan Rice – 7/2

Frank Lampard was eager to get Declan Rice through the door – and Tuchel is no different.

The West Ham midfielder has gone from strength-to-strength at the London Stadium and looks set to shine for England at this summer's European Championships.

David Moyes has said it would take the "Bank of England plus Bank of Scotland" to part ways with the 22-year-old.

Manchester United have also expressed interest but Rice's preference would be to join friends Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell at Chelsea.

Harry Kane – 6/1

Harry Kane is looking to leave Tottenham and Chelsea are looking for a talisman. It sounds easy on paper.

Betfair have priced the England captain at 6/1 to make the trip across London as he goes in search of titles and regular silverware.

Kane is firmly on Tuchel's wishlist with the 27-year-old having just claimed his THIRD Golden Boot award.

However, Chelsea will have their work cut out with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City also in hot pursuit.

Erling Haaland – 8/1

Borussia Dortmund Erling Haaland star is one of the most coveted player's on the planet.

And Chelsea are priced at 8/1 to clinch his signature this summer.

The Norwegian attacker scored a phenomenal 41 goals in 41 games this season and is still just 20.

Haaland is under contract at Dortmund until 2024 but has a £66m release clause, which can be activated next summer.

Eden Hazard – 12/1

Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard is available at 12/1 to make a sensational return to Chelsea.

But the player himself recently distanced himself from transfer speculation after being pictured laughing and joking during Real's Champions League semi-final defeat.

Hazard said: "Of course [I did not celebrate], I’m a Real Madrid player so I am not happy.

"I am just happy for a couple of friends in the team, but I hope next season it’s for Real Madrid.”
