Demi Lovato’s former assistant found the singer naked and blue hours after a drug overdose from a cocktail of heroin and fentanyl-laced Oxycodone.
Jordan Jackson was shocked to discover an unconscious and “drooling” Lovato the morning of July 24 and called the head of security, Max Lea, before dialing 911, she reveals in her new YouTube docuseries, “Dancing With the Devil,” which premieres March 23.
At one point the “Confident” singer’s whole body turned “completely blue,” Jackson shares.
Lovato, who reveals she secretly dialed her drug dealer before ODing, was then transported to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, where she suffered three strokes and a heart attack. The strokes caused permanent brain damage and left Lovato with blind spots in her vision that render her unable to drive.
“I’m really lucky to be alive,” Lovato shares. “My doctors said that like I had 5 to 10 more minutes, and had my assistant not come in, I wouldn’t be here today.”
The “Sober” singer, 28, also reveals that she had a dialysis tube sewn into her neck to remove her blood completely and clean out the toxins. She also came down with pneumonia after asphyxiating and entered multiple organ failure.
Unbeknownst to everyone in her life, Lovato had become fully addicted to heroin after being introduced to it after a relapse that came on the heels of her sixth sobriety anniversary. She had gone on a “shopping spree” of mixing methamphetamine with cocaine before graduating to the opioid.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer also claims her drug dealer, who supplied her with the near-fatal narcotics, sexually assaulted her the night she overdosed.
“It wasn’t until maybe a month after my overdose that I realized, ‘Hey, you weren’t in any state of mind to make a consensual decision,’” she recalls of their sexual activity. “That kind of trauma doesn’t go away overnight.”
