Dillan Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin LIVE: Latest updates ahead of boxing tonight

Dillian Whyte takes on Alexander Povetkin this evening in what should prove to be a brutal heavyweight bout.

Both men last took to the ring on the same night in Saudi Arabia in December, with Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) beating Mariusz Wach via unanimous decision while Russian Povetkin (35-2, 24 KOs) fought to a split-decision draw against Michael Hunter.

Now the pair square off in Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn‘s garden in Brentwood, Essex, as Britain’s Whyte looks to keep himself in line for a shot at Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight championship at some point in the near future, while 40-year-old Povetkin would surely take great pleasure in complicating the title picture. The evening’s co-main event should also be a good contest, as Ireland’s undefeated champion Katie Taylor rematches Delfine Persoon, whom she beat last year. Follow all the action live below:
