Domino's reveals hack to reheat pizza in 30 seconds without it going soggy
If you’ve gone overboard on the pizza size and can’t quite finish it, save it for the next day.
But when it comes to reheating, you need to do it right – no one wants a soggy base.
Domino’s has revealed the best way to quickly reheat a slice but keep it nice and crisp, along with lots of other ideas for using up leftovers.
The Australian branch of the worldwide chain advises putting a slice on a plate in the microwave for 30 seconds, with a half full cup of water (make sure your cup is microwave safe).
Other recommendations include using an oven, hot pan or air fryer to get a crispy base, fluffy dough and melted cheese, just like it was when it was fresh.
Admittedly, these methods take a little more paitence.
In the oven, lay slices apart on a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper. It’s best to use a low heat to prevent burning but enough to soften the cheese.
In the pan, warm one slice at a time in a non-stick pan on a low heat. Don’t add any oil as this can make it greasy.
If you’re sick of pizza and want to make something different with your leftovers, the brand also has some other suggetions.
Firstly the toppings omelette – the idea is that you crack a few eggs, beat them together, add to a pan and then scrape everything on top of the pizza into the pan.
Keep the crusts for some of their other ideas.
They recommend keeping the crust just to eat as dips sticks or try an unusual idea from Domino’s Japan for a sweet treat – churro crusts.
Based on the famous Spanish dessert serve with chocolate, for this you need to remove the crusts, dry them up in lots of butter and add icing sugar.
‘Sweet, salty, doughy deliciousness,’ they said.
The final suggestion is to make a pizza waffle by sandwiching two slices together with the toppings in the middle and cooking it in the waffle iron.
