Singer Elle King is pregnant after previously suffering two “very big losses.”
On Wednesday, King, 31, made the joyful announcement on Instagram alongside a trio of photos of her with fiancé Dan Tooker. In one of the snaps, she is playfully holding up sonogram images.
“Well, we did something!” she enthused in the caption. “Me and @tattooker made a little human! We are very excited to share the news that we are pregnant. This news comes with a great deal of fear, and I hope that all mothers-to-be, in whatever sense that may be, know that I am trying to be very sensitive.”
King went on to acknowledge her previous pregnancy losses.
“You see, this miracle baby comes after two very big losses,” the “Another You” performer continued. “It’s a terrifying and extremely painful experience for everyone. But the sun always rises, and I never really let go to let the universe decide when I was ready. I remember every pregnancy announcement felt like a dagger to me.”
She encouraged others to not give up hope.
“I’m telling you, our babies come,” King wrote. “And I love you. What women go through on this journey make us nothing less than WARRIORS. So thank you for your prayers and love for our high-risk pregnancy!”
King then joked about the irony of her latest single being called “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” noting: “I am a very sober pregnant lady,” she added.
King, whose father is comedian Rob Schneider, and Tooker, a tattoo artist, got engaged last October after a year of dating. She was previously married to Andrew Ferguson.
