Elon Musk has revealed the latest Tesla product – and it’s not a car.

Instead, the billionaire produced a humanoid robot called the ‘Tesla Bot’ that uses the same artificial intelligence found in the electric vehicles.

The surprise reveal came at the end of Tesla’s AI Day presentation.

And while Musk didn’t actually show off the robot in real life – he did give the audience a glimpse of how it’ll work.

The 5-foot-8 robot is built from ‘lightweight materials’ and will be able to ‘see’ using the Autopilot cameras from Tesla vehicles that sense the environment.

Musk said the Tesla Bot will be operated by Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) computer.

‘It’s intended to be friendly,’ Musk said, ‘and navigate through a world built for humans.’

We’re not exactly sure why Tesla wants to make a robot, but after the 90 minute presentation detailing the company’s new artificial intelligence upgrades, Musk said: ‘It makes sense to put that onto humanoid form.’

And, just to make sure everyone knew he was serious, a person dressed like the Tesla Bot came onto the stage and danced for a while.
