Henry Cavill’s Superman is coming back to Warner Bros.’ DC Universe

Henry Cavill will reportedly reprise his role as Superman in the DC Universe — and we know what film it won’t be.

Sources reiterate that the new Warner Bros. project will not be a sequel to “Man of Steel,” nor any stand-alone Superman film, Deadline reported Thursday.

The caped crusader is not expected to make a scene in Matt Reeves’ upcoming “The Batman.” It’s also known that Warner Bros. has already wrapped “Wonder Woman 1984,” due out this summer, and yet another stab at “Suicide Squad” — so those are out.

The industry outlet speculates Cavill, the star of Netflix’s “The Witcher,” could possibly cameo in “Shazam 2,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Black Adam” or the “Aquaman” sequel. Production for all three had been halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cavill, who starred in “Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman” and “Justice League,” dropped by Zack Snyder’s Vero Watch Party for “Man of Steel” last week, where the director announced that his special cut of “Justice League” would release on HBO Max in 2021.

Here’s hoping this means we may finally catch a glimpse of the mysterious mustachioed Superman. Snyder, release the ‘stache!
