I told my partners adult actress sister I recognised her face – it went bad

Meeting your partner's family for the first time is a huge moment in your relationship.

Sometimes it might go perfectly smooth, while other occasions there's a bit of a hiccup along the way.

Now one Reddit user found himself in an awkward situation when he recognised his girlfriend's sister – and for the wrong reasons.

Although he had seen snaps of her relatives before, he was struck by how different his partner's sibling looked in real life.

Then when talk turned to what everybody did for work, the sister revealed she was an actress.

But when he asked what she had been in, his girlfriend's brother "let out a cackle".

He later found out that the sister had worked in adult films.

Writing on Reddit, he said: "In the moment, I was very confused but I guess now I see why it was so funny.

"Her cousins also heard me say this and just started staring. Her sister said she does commercial work and then changed the subject.

"About 10 minutes later her brother pulls me aside to tell me, his sister is a porn star.

"He said that she went viral after one of her scenes was memed to hell. After that, Easter Sunday goes as planned and we leave out."

But that wasn't the end of it as his girlfriend shared her concerns during their drive back home.

He added: "She tells me what her brother told me.

"Her sister does porn and she says she's an actress as our older family members don't know.

"She said that I embarrassed her by saying to everyone that I have watched her sister.

"I told her that I probably recognised her from a meme, but she wasn't having it."

The man continued: "She was telling me it was humiliating to have her boyfriend say that.

"I explained that this isn't on me. She should've warned me and I could not have possibly seen this coming."

Sadly the girlfriend didn't see his side of things and the pair have been arguing since that awkward Easter Sunday encounter.

Now other Reddit users have shared their opinion as one said his girlfriend should have warned him.

The user added: "What someone does for work is a common talking point when first meeting new people."
