Love Island 2023 stars who have returned to work from rugby player to baker
The series finale of winter Love Island 2023 aired just two weeks ago, but some of the contestants are already back working at their day jobs.
Despite being thrust into the spotlight, several islanders have chosen to return to what they were doing before entering the villa, rather than pursuing fame and fortune.
On the other hand, series winner Sanam Harrinanan has revealed will not be returning to social work, which is what she worked at before she made her Love Island debut in Casa Amor.
Speaking to heat world, Sanam explained, "I can't go into social work again, I don't think I'll be able to but I've got a meeting about it this week with my social work manager because I want to be able to use this platform to help children locally."
She went on to add, "And then we [me and Kai] spoke about doing stuff afterwards. We can't go directly into it but we can use our platforms to do something."
Her boyfriend and former schoolteacher Kai Fagan agreed, saying: "I still want to do the same thing I was doing but in a different capacity but it's just finding out what that capacity is and how I can do it."
Here are the 2023 Islanders who have already gone back to work…
Sportsman Keanan, 24, lasted just six days on the island before he was dumped, after he entered the show as a last-minute bombshell with Rosie Seabrook.
He went on dates with Jessie Wynter and Samie Elishi before admitting that he found Rosie attractive and thought there was something between them worth exploring – but she chose to stick with Casey O'Gorman.
Following his time on the show, Keanan has already returned to work with Super League rugby team Leigh Leopards – although it will still be a few weeks before he is back on the pitch.
The Leopards shared pictures of Keanan back in training on Tuesday, after an injury meant he was given their support to go on the show while he recovered.
When he left the island, the team tweeted: "You've done us proud, Keanan.
"All of us at Leigh Leopards can't wait to welcome you back home."
Earlier this month, the club issued a statement on Keenan's return following his time in the villa.
Head coach Adrian Lam said: "I know that he's got a speedos tan and a little more hair gel and make-up on," reported Love Rugby League.
"Keanan comes back to join us tomorrow moving forward. He was close to being fully fit before he went in there.
"He won't come into consideration for selection for us until he gets back into a full time programme here, so that will be four to six weeks. Unless things happen otherwise, that's the conversations that we've had."
Love Island finalist Tanya Manhenga isn't going to let he newfound fame derail her career plans, as she shares her plans to return to university to complete her biomedical science degree.
The 23 year old found love on the hit dating show with fellow contestant Shaq Muhammad, and the pair finished the popular ITV2 show in fourth place, however she's not letting the success get to her head.
In an Instagram Q&A, a fan asked Tanya if she plans to return to university, or if she'll drop out now thanks to her reality TV success.
Tanya replied: "I'm definitely going to finish… I don't start things and don't finish them."
Claudia Fogarty has revealed she would rather focus on her fitness career than be an influencer after leaving the ITV villa.
The daughter of motorcycle racer Carl Fogarty opened up about life after appearing on the dating programme and admitted that she hopes her platform will allow her to help others.
Claudia, 28, entered the villa on day 23 but was subsequently dumped on day 45 alongside Keanan after the pair were evicted by Maxwell Samuda and Olivia Hawkins.
She has shared how she hopes her appearance on the show will help others change their lives.
Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "I think coming out of something like this, it's nice to kind of help others," she said before adding: "Tell people your journey, tell people what you struggle with in life and hopefully reach out to people and inspire people to do the same.
"I think this platform gives you the chance to reach out to people and tell your story and hopefully help other people out there."
Claudia went on to explain that before going to South Africa to star in the show, she didn't want to become a 'typical influencer' and follow in the footsteps of other previous Islanders.
"I wanted to come out and follow my journey and get to grips with what I want to do. Fitness has always been a big thing for me and battling with my weight from time to time so I think it's good to come out there and be a little bit of an inspiration to people, hopefully."
Tanyel Revan has already returned to work as a hairdresser at a luxe hair salon in North London.
The 26 year old, who was one of the original line-up on this year's Love Island, took to Instagram to show off the Keratin treatment she had just completed on one of her clients.
The before and after video showed her client with wet and bedraggled blonde hair before it was transformed into a sleek, shiny and straight style.
Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo returned to her day job two weeks after being dumped from the villa.
She joined the show during Casa Amor after turning Casey's head.
However, the beauty wasn't picked in the recoupling and Casey chose to stick with Claudia.
The baker and dental receptionist has revealed she is back to baking goods for her own cakes business, Cynful Treats.
Promoting the business told her Instagram followers: "Mother's Day boxes are live!! Send me a DM or email over at @cynfultreats_ to order from the Mother's Day range."
