Mum and 16-year-old daughter who ‘look like twins’ baffle internet

A mum has admitted she's constantly mistaken as her daughter's twin thanks to her youthful look.

Stacie Smith, from Georgia, US, has become a viral sensation thanks to a video of her dancing with her daughter Madison.

The clip, which amassed more than 1 million views on TikTok, shows the mother and daughter dancing in perfectly synchronised steps.

"Aren't you that mother/daughter duo that people think are twins?" is emblazoned across the screen.

Stacie shrugs her shoulder before calling Madison to come into the shot.

Both wear stripe-patterned sweaters and denim shorts and put on big smiles in front of the camera as they lip-sync to the background music.

The mum and daughter duo give each other a big hug at the end of the clip.

Viewers could not work out which is the mother and which is the daughter even after watching the clip a few times.

One said: "I've watched this 10 times trying to figure out which one was the come. I had to come to the comments to find out."

Another wrote: "You really just printed out yourself."

"I couldn’t tell for a very long time which one was the mum," a third added.

Some are desperate to ask for the age-defying tips but Stacie revealed that the natural lighting helped to cover her wrinkles.

While others struggled to identify Stacie in the video, she stated she is "over 40" in the hashtags and tagged her 16-year-old daughter Madison in the clip.

Stacie also answered to her fans: "First is mom."
