Mum slammed online for ‘lazy’ lunch she makes her kids during homeschooling

A mum had to defend her choices this week after posting a snap of her child’s lunch online.

The parent has quickly put together a plate of pasta shells and tinned peached for her kiddos as a quick meal between online classes.

Salty and sweet might not be to everyone’s taste, but it cheap and easy.

And, if her kids like it and eat the lot then that might be a win for mum!

Posting the image on a popular budget Facebook group, she wanted to give fellow mums and dads some inspo for lunchtime.

The anonymous parent said: “Lazy lunch for the kids before they get back on computers for school."

And, while lots of people praised the mum for her relatable and do-able lunch, some slammed the plain dish.

Many gave her suggestions on how to “bulk it out”.

One said: "This looks like plain boiled pasta shells and tinned peaches, I never would consider eating them like this, not in the slightest bit appealing, but each to their own."

Another added: "Tomato sauce too of course it’s pennies, quick and filling, could always add a few peas and sweet corn too or some more salad bits."

Despite this, some people defended the mum.

One said: "It’s 'feed your family on a budget'. Pasta and tinned fruit are about as budget as it gets.

“People be expecting cordon bleu on this group."

And others pointed out that the mum had called it a “lazy” lunch.

She later replied to the thread saying that her kids are healthy and well fed.
