Mum’s hack reduces sugar in son’s breakfast by mixing two cereals together

When it comes to healthy eating at home, it's not always simple when you've got kids.

But one woman has proved it doesn't have to be difficult at all when she shared her latest parenting trick.

Taking to the Facebook group Aldi Mums, she posted a photo of the cereal she had created by mixing Coco Pops and Rice Crispies.

She wrote: "I'm not sure if anyone else does this, but this is my trick to reduce the sugar in my son's morning cereal.

"He loves Coco Pops (or any brand variant of it, this is the Aldi one) and it's pretty much the only thing he will eat at breakfast.

"I always buy one box of Coco Pops and one box of Rice Puffs and mix them half and half."

The mum added: "It looks more interesting and it cuts the sugar content down without tasting horrible.

"I've been doing this for years and never any complaints."

Since it was shared on the popular social media group, scores of parents rushed to comment on how smart this trick was.

One parent wrote on the group: "I'll definitely be doing this. Great idea!"

Another added: "This is simple yet brilliant."

A third commented: "What a great idea. Us mums are so clever thanks for sharing."

In other parenting news, mums and dads have been warned to never dress their kids in blue swimsuits after a "terrifying" photo.

At first glance it might look like nothing's going on in the water, but that's where you're wrong.

There's a slightly darker patch in the waters which is actually a child who was wearing pale blue shorts.

The Australian Facebook group CPR Kids shared the photo in a warning to parents to ensure their child is visible at all times.

Nurse Sarah Hunstead also said it was vital to "actively supervise" kids and to learn CPR.

On the page, it said: "Yes, there is a child there, it's hard to believe we know."
