New YouTube Theater Set To Be a 6,000-Seat Live Entertainment Complex in Hollywood
YouTube has officially nabbed its first naming-rights deal and this time it is for a 6,000-seat performance center in Inglewood, California. The Google-owned video company has reportedly snagged a decade-long naming right to the theater space.
According to Variety, YouTube Theater will take over the sports and entertainment complex at Hollywood Park and is slated to open later this summer, though the first of the events have yet to be announced. By early 2022, YouTube Theater is expected to host a bevy of live entertainment shows including and concerts, stand-up comedy shows, award shows, community events, e-sports competitions and even conferences with YouTube creators.
The three-story venue is 227,000 square feet and features a 6,1000 square feet stage. It is also situated under the same roof canopy that stretches over SoFi Stadium, which is home to the Los Angeles Rams and the Chargers. The theater will also feature six luxury boxes, a 3,500 square-feet private club that includes 140 premium seats and 1,200 square-feet back-of-house hospitality space.
YouTube’s VP of brand marketing said, “YouTube Theater will drive the uniqueness of YouTube by combining physical, ‘in real life’ events that bring creators and fans together.” It is expected that the video platform will utilize the platform to share events “
with our 2 billion global monthly users through live streams and VOD content.”
Hollywood Park already has a lineup of acts booked at the theater starting in September. For more information on the events, check out the YouTube Theater.
