Premier League next manager sacked odds: Roy Hodgson new favourite for AXE after Chelsea defeat, Bruce and Mourinho next

ROY HODGSON is the new favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've priced the 73-year-old at 11/4 to be relieved of his duties before any of his managerial peers.

The Eagles suffered a 4-1 loss to Chelsea on Saturday with Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Kurt Zouma on the scoresheet at Selhurst Park.

Palace aren't in any danger of relegation having collected 38 points – 12 more than 18th-placed Fulham.

However, the south London outfit are on course for a SIXTH successive bottom-half finish.

Hodgson's contract will expire in June but bookmakers Betfair think that there could be a change before then.

Asked to clarify the situation before Saturday's game, Hodgson said: "I am in the same situation as the others.

"Basically I think we all have our own ideas of what our plans are, but we are more than happy to wait a little bit longer before announcing those plans."

Newcastle's Steve Bruce is next in the betting market but his odds of staying have dramatically improved after the win over Burnley.

The Toon are now SIX points clear of Fulham having played a game less and look increasingly likely to secure their Premier League status.

Bruce was priced at 7/4 to be AXED but is now available at 9/2.

Jose Mourinho is offered at 5/1.

The Tottenham boss has endured a difficult spell with Spurs losing to arch-rivals Arsenal before being dumped out of the Europe League and then falling to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Manchester United.

The club are seventh – six points adrift from Champions League football and battling for Europa League qualification.
