Rowing Blazers and Seiko Introduce a Colorful Range of Sports Diver Timepieces
After joining forces for a friends-and-family Tudor timepiece earlier this year, Rowing Blazers and Seiko have reunited for a new collaboration. This time around, the duo offers up a fresh range of kaleidoscopic watches based on the 1970 Seiko 6106-7107 70m Sport Diver.
Designed by Rowing Blazers founder Jack Carlson and watch expert Eric Wind, the collaborative timepiece arrives in four tones: pink, yellow, purple and white. Hour markers, on all, appear in the brand’s signature “croquet stripe,” while multi-toned nylon straps provide a unique appeal for each colorway.
Zooming in, the crown boasts Rowing Blazers’ monogram, and the caseback dons the brand’s “Tempus Fugit” (“Time Flies”) motif. Notably, the days of the week can be set to either English or Japanese.
“The case is 40mm,” Carlson notes, “but it wears smaller. I love that, and I love the smooth bezel. The new colors feel nostalgic, but also very relevant for today at the same time.”
Wind added, “Following up on our first two successful capsules with Seiko, our third capsule is geared toward summer. We were inspired by vintage Seiko watches, but also had our own twist on the dial colors.”
The Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports capsule will launch on Thursday, May 11, at 4 p.m. BST on Rowing Blazers’ website and at the brand’s flagship in New York City. Each colorway is limited to 888 numbered pieces.
