Sam Faiers reveals her trick to get rid of bloating as she shares daily lockdown diet

Samantha Faiers has shared her own trick to battling the bloat when certain foods trigger her stomach.

The Mummy Diaries star, 29, who revealed she's been working out every day since lockdown started, answered a question asked by one of her followers to share her best advice.

Sam, who was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2014, explained that she turns to green tea, ginger and apple cider vinegar to ease the bloat.

"I get bloated quite a lot… try this. Green tea bag, a chopped peeled piece of ginger, half a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, half a lemon squeezed and a teaspoon of honey.

"I found this online a while ago and it works for me. Oh and take the ginger out after 10 mins," she shared in a post on Instagram Stories.

Sam also shared the types of meals she's been eating during lockdown, but pointed out that she "never" counts calories "because I love my food too much."

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Sam said she'd been asked about what she eats every day and explained it was never the same.

But for breakfast she either has eggs, porridge or tucks into a frozen berry smoothie with unsweetened almond milk, and a spoonful of whey protein.

For lunch it was smoked mackerel and a warm salad of red onion, red peppers, chilli and spinach: "Literally used bits I had in the fridge, this wasn't planned took 5 mins prep and 5 mins cooking. Healthy and delicious."

Back in 2014 Sam, opened up about her Crohn's Disease, which is a long-term condition where the gut becomes inflamed and the main symptoms include diarrhoea, stomach aches and cramps, and blood in your stools.

She had noticeably dropped weight before she was diagnosed with the severe case, but in 2017 after monitoring her diet and taking anti-inflammation medication Sam noticed a difference and has been managing her condition ever since.

Sam said at the time: "I lost two and a half stone, I was weak, fatigued, couldn’t hold any food down, I had boils on my face, my body shut down on me.

"A lot of us underestimate how serious this illness is. I have met families who have lost loved ones in serious cases and young girls who have had bowels removed. It’s heartbreaking. The more awareness we make the more we can help each other."

She said that an anti-inflammatory diet, including drinking kefir, as well as cutting back on alcohol, worked for her as well as pregnancy.

"When I was pregnant with Paul [in 2015] I felt the best I ever had in my life (not sure why, but pregnancy really did help) and that’s something I was concerned about."
