The sweet meaning behind Jesy Nelson’s tattoos including beautiful tribute to former Little Mix bandmates

Jesy Nelson announced she is quitting Little Mix in a heartfelt statement on Monday evening.
The 29 year old singer shared the news in a statement posted on her Instagram page, weeks after taking an extended break from the band for private medical reasons.
Jesy addressed her fans and revealed that being in the band has “really taken a toll on my mental health” in the candid statement.
She began with: “To all my Mixers, The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life.”

Little Mix formed in 2011, consisting of Jesy and her former bandmates Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
And it appears Jesy got a tattoo to mark the start of the band in the form of Roman Numerals on her right wrist.

Little Mix tattoos
Jesy has the Roman numerals XIX-VIII-XI – or 9-8-11 – written on her wrist, which would signify the day Little Mix were formed during bootcamp on The X Factor UK series eight.
The adorable tribute to the girls and their band isn’t the only one Jesy has on her body.
The stunning star has has ‘girl power’ tattooed on her collarbone which could well relate to Little Mix as the band are big advocates for women taking charge.

“If a girl is being bullied, or heartbroken, or just feeling like utter sh**e, if our music can make them feel better… then we’re doing our jobs right,” Jesy has said in the past.
The singer also has a tattoo which reads: “Music is the strongest form of Magic,” a Marilyn Manson quote, written on the inside of her right arm.
It seems Jesy is a big fan of rose tattoos too, and she has a skull and rose from artist Oliver Macintosh on the outside of her left forearm which she got in 2014.
From the same artist, she has a large tattoo of roses running up her left forearm.
As well as roses, Jesy has text tattoos on various parts of her body.
“You were born an original so don’t die a copy,” is a tattoo the singer got down her side in 2013.
Another empowering tattoo which the star wears with pride is one which wraps itself around her right thigh and reads: “A tiger never loses sleep over the opinions of sheep.”
Jesy has also spoken about a “Once upon a time” tattoo she has on her arm too, in a gothic font.

She told Fabulous magazine: “It’s really cringe, but I recently had this done. When me and Jake first got together… before I’d fall asleep he’d tell me a little fairytale story about how we got together. So it’s really cringe, but it’s cute.”
The star referred to her ex boyfriend Jake Roche.
The star also has ‘amor’ on her middle finger knuckle, and on her index finger and ring finger are the letters “E” and “J.”

The initials remain somewhat of a mystery, as there isn’t any obvious link to them being about a former boyfriend or family member.
One of Jesy’s more recent tattoos reads “Keepers” which she revealed during an appearance at the Global Awards on March 1, 2018.
In 2015 Jesy visited New York and got a tattoo of a feather and eye on her forearm.
The star went to artist Bang Bang who are renowned for their celebrity clientele, and she wrote at the time: “Always wanted to be tattooed by the amazing @bangbangnyc and I finally did yesterday.”
She also has six symbols tattooed on her left hand knuckles; the symbols from a pack of cards.
