Watch Sergio Reguilon score 'absolute worldy' own goal as Tottenham defender volleys cross into top corner
TOTTENHAM defender Sergio Reguilon scored one of the best volleys you'll ever see… at the wrong end.
Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba drove forward with the ball with Spurs 1-0 to the good at home after Steven Bergwijn's early goal.
The Zimbabwe international lofted an aimless cross into the middle with – seemingly – little danger to the Spurs defence.
Reguilon, on loan from Real Madrid, was under no pressure as he attempted to hook the ball away with his weaker right foot.
But he got an awful contact on the ball – or perfect if you're a Villa or Arsenal fan – and saw the ball rocket towards goal.
Tottenham skipper Hugo Lloris had no chance in goal as the ball sliced straight into the top corner to make it 1-1.
Spurs and England legend Gary Lineker summed up those watching by Tweeting: "As own goals go, that’s an absolute worldy from Reguilon."
It only got worse from their for the Argentine.
With 40 minutes on the clock Spurs overplayed at the back – and Reguilon fired a clearance straight at Villa winger Bertrand Traore.
The ball dropped kindly for Ollie Watkins to make it 2-1 just before the break.
