Stacey Solomon says son Rex ‘shows how beautiful life can be’ as she celebrates his first birthday with a video tribute – The Sun

STACEY Solomon says her son Rex "shows her how beautiful life can be" in a beautiful tribute on his first birthday.

The 30-year-old celebrated her third child – who she nicknamed pickle – with a beautiful montage of videos on Instagram this morning.

She shared her favourite moments waking up with her son over the past 12 months before saying "happy birthday" to Rex and showering him with kisses.

Showing fans a snap of her cradling newborn Rex with his dad Joe Swash, Stacey said: "Waking up to you every pickle, every morning for the last year has brightened up our world."

She added: "Your happiness is such a blessing and every night my head hits the pillow I dream of when you will wake and show me how beautiful life can be.

"Pickle you are a living angel who brings so much light into our lives and we can not believe that today we are waking up to a year of our pickle."

Stacey has spent the last few days planning an incredible birthday party for Rex today with a balloon arch, doughnut wall and loads of presents.

In between Rex's naps and home-schooling her older children Leighton and Zach, Stacey has been making beautiful decorations to make her baby's special day one to never forget.

She also made a cake from scratch, but admitted she had "muffed it".

She also wasn't happy with her balloon arch. Stacey said: "Tried to hide the string but I'd need more balloons and I'm not blowing up another bloody balloon, so it'll have to be stringy."

The 30-year-old wrapped up presents for the little man to celebrate his first birthday – and it looks like he's about to be spoilt rotten.

But in April, Stacey and Joe made the decision to give Rex one of his gifts a six weeks early so he could make the most of it in the sunny weather.

The generous parents turned their garden into a water haven with a blow-up swimming pool for their little boy as temperatures rocketed in Britain during lockdown.

Alice + Olivia’s Stacey Bendet launches job platform for creatives

Alice + Olivia CEO Stacey Bendet has launched a job platform for creatives and artists that will serve as a gallery to show off projects and a place to find work opportunities.

Launching Tuesday morning, Creatively will begin as a free platform and won’t establish any membership fees for “some time,” Bendet tells Page Six.

“We’re hyper-focused on launching and nurturing our community,” Bendet said. “Down the line, we plan to offer a monthly and annual subscription to companies for posting jobs.”

Bendet, 41, came up with the idea for the app and website out of frustration with hiring within her own clothing company as the brand continued to change and grow before the coronavirus pandemic.

“I found creative needs in various departments changing and hiring off of existing professional tools inefficient,” she explained, noting that many artists and creatives were turning toward more “nomadic” lifestyles as they preferred to work remotely or internationally.

“The need was there to give creatives a better place to showcase their work and to provide employers with a more intuitive way to assess that work,” she said. “If you’re a creative or if you’ve ever hired a creative team, you know the truth is other professional networking sites don’t properly serve the community and don’t allow us to discover talent or see their work easily, all in one place.”

Initially, Creatively was set to launch in the fall, but the pandemic pushed Bendet and Creatively CEO Greg Gittrich to move up the release to spring to help “creatives, who are in dire need of work, as well as the companies and brands that rely on them,” she said.

Brands included in the launch are Drybar, Black Tap NYC, Alice + Olivia, Neiman Marcus, Monkeypaw, Vince and Tripadvisor.

Though much of the world — including New York City — is “on pause,” Bendet is encouraging artists to keep working.

“Take this moment to focus on you and be creative,” she told Page Six. “Focus on your family, your loved ones, and try and create new things even if only for your love of creating.

“But most importantly be optimistic, the world will not be this way forever!”

Stacey Solomon hoovers her lawn and transforms her garden into an ‘autumn’ wonderland with baby Rex – The Sun

STACEY Solomon got busy in the garden today and hoovered her lawn before transforming her outdoor space into an 'autumn' wonderland for baby Rex.

The mum-of-three has been spending a lot of time in the garden enjoying the sunshine with her sons 10-month-old Rex, Leighton, 7, and Zach, 10.

"Just spent the last two hours trying to tidy our garden because our tree is moulting and Rex will actually eat the tree moult like a bag of cheese and onion crisps," she shared on her Instagram Stories.

She hoovered the astroturf, set up a tipi for Rex and put the cushions back on her egg chair.

Then Stacey decided she wanted to decorated the garden even more and remembered she had some autumn decorations left over from last year in the shed.

"I'm going to decorate the trellis with my autumn flowers for no reason whatsover," she laughed.

She revealed they have just been sat in the shed since last year so thought she would put them to good use.

Afterwards she revealed her flower wall and said: "Thoroughly enjoyed this, I know it's not necessary but it kept my mind busy for an hour and now we have some space in the shed."

Yesterday, the Loose Women panellist, 31, couldn't hide her joy as her baby Rex ate a whole clove of her garlic.

She filmed her youngest son eating the cooked clove during their roast dinner – and said she loves eating it too.

After Stacey made the meal, little Rex had the whole clove in his mouth.

She said: "Yum num num num, do you want some of mummy's garlic? Mummy's favourite – Rex's favourite."

Stacey captioned it: "I can't tell you how happy it makes me that Rex loves garlic as much as I do! Everyone else think it's weird so I finally have someone else thinks it's weird so I finally have someone on my garlic tea.

"My breath doesn't love it the next day though."

She then said: "Two things that made me smile tonight. First thing, I did not feed Rex raw garlic and you know Susan, it was clearly cooked, mushy garlic.

"Secondly, so many of you messaged to say today is national garlic day. What are the chances! Sometimes I do things and I think, am I psychic? I would actually hate to be psychic. Happy national garlic day Susan!"

This comes a week after Rex made a splash on Loose Women as he appeared beside his mum on the show.

The adorable baby was happily having his lunch while mum Stacey appeared on today's special show in tribute to the NHS – but it wasn't long until he made a splash of own.

As Stacey began speaking about how she is coping during lockdown, Rex could be heard giggling off camera and Nadia couldn't resist and asked Stacey to bring him into shot.

Pulling Rex onto her knee, Stacey tried to praise her youngest but as she said how much of a good baby he was – he knocked her drink over.

But as Stacey carried on speaking no-one could hear her as cheeky Rex blocked her mic, and then Stacey lost her earpieace while trying to wrangle him.
