A Place in the Sun fans horrified by property that looks like slaughterhouse
A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman was trying to find a holiday home for retired company director George – but one of the properties horrified viewers who said it looked like a "slaughterhouse".
In an episode aired on Tuesday (June 22) but first shown in 2018, Jasmine had a budget of £150,000 to find the perfect second home for George, who is a widower and has downsized back home to free up cash.
George, a self-confessed foodie who loves paella, said he was drawn to the historical area because he "liked the people" and how peaceful and quiet it was with "no noisy discos".
Jasmine's second property was a three-bedroom townhouse on the market for £166,667 in the heart of Puerto Pollensa's old town.
The traditional home, painted pink on the outside, has a dining hall, living room, kitchen, laundry room, one bathroom, and a terrace with beautiful mountain views.
Jasmine admits the cheaper price is probably due to the property having an "unconventional" layout and needing some work.
George said it was a "time warp" as he stepped into the living room, which was decorated with traditional dark wood furniture, while his friend Diane said it was "lovely".
Looking at the roof terrace, currently used for laundry, he tactfully said: "It needs a bit of work. A bit of imagination."

George then turned down the property, explaining to Jasmine: "Seeing the structure inside, I think there's a lot more that needs doing to it."
"Things like all the stairs, they are very steep, and these aren't getting any younger," he said, gesturing to his knees.
The viewers at home hated the property just as much as George, with one commenting on Twitter: "Looks like it’s gonna fall down at any moment!"
"Looks like a slaughterhouse," said a second person.

Another viewer commented: "It’s horrible. Next!"
Fortunately for Jasmine, George liked property three a lot more.
It was a three-bedroom apartment with a private terrace, kitchen, utility room, two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, and a bathroom.
After some bargaining with the help of Jasmine, George was able to get his offer on the property accepted for £166,500.
