BBC Breakfast regular Louise Minchin, 52, has sparked an online debate after telling viewers she loved marmalade on sausages for a morning snack.
The TV host explained to Dan Walker,44, that she isn't a fan of the usual condiments of HP sauce and ketchup.
Kicking off the debate, Dan asked his morning co-star: "The important question to ask you this morning is; Sausage Sandwich, red sauce or brown source?"
Smirking, Louise replied: "Neither. marmalade. That has really messed with your head hasn't it."
Looking dumb-struck, Dan hit back: "What? You're a maverick.
"My Grandfather used to have marmalade with bacon."
Probing Louise further, Dan asked: "What just normal marmalade or like an onion…"
Shaking her head defiantly, Louise confirmed: "No just normal marmalade."
"Wow you are really breaking culinary boundaries this morning," Piers Morgan's rival chuckled.
Keen to give her take on the situation, BBC weather forecaster Carol Kirkwood chimed in: "I've never tried that. I prefer mustard."

Stunned Dan added: "What is wrong with bong standard Ketchup. You come in here with your post foodie ways you lot."
The bizarre breakfast treat left viewers outraged.
One fan wrote: @BBCBreakfast reasonable question from Dan.. unreasonable answer from Louise!!
"Marmalade??!! Ketchup was the answer you were looking for Louise."
Another added: "Marmalade on a sausage sandwich. Really?#BBCBreakfast"
However, while many were far from impressed, others agreed with Lou.
"Ooh, @louiseminchin I think I need to try marmalade with sausage sandwich," a viewer praised.
A second tweeted: "Sausage and marmalade was the breakfast of choice at the school I went to, King Edward's Witley, 45 years ago."
