Ben Affleck's message to TikTok star goes viral after she unmatched with him on dating app – & he found her on Instagram
ACTOR Ben Affleck went viral on TikTok yesterday after an influencer revealed he sent her a video asking why she unmatched him on celebrity dating app Raya.
Nivine Jay, who is the author of Cry Baby, believed the Oscar-winner's profile on the elite dating app was "fake" so promptly turned down his advances.
However, it turns out Ben's account was real as she shared his video message in a hilarious TikTok that has been viewed over a million times.
"Thinking of the time I matched with Ben Affleck on raya and thought it was fake so I unmatched him and he sent me a video on instagram," she wrote, along with four skull emojis.
After striking a series of poses, Nivine then inserted the video Ben, 48, allegedly sent her which saw him in a red T-shirt attempting to confirm his identity.
The Justice League actor asked her: "Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It's me!" before he ended the video with a smirk.
Nivine captioned the clip "Sorry Ben" alongside a number of hashtags which included the actor's name and the app Raya.
Raya is an uber-exclusive dating app for the rich and famous with a waiting list of more than 100,000.
Its roll-call of users is like a Who’s Who of today’s A-listers — Cara Delevingne, Paul Mescal, Lewis Capaldi, and even Adele have all been linked to the site.
But being famous isn’t enough to grant you access. Like a private members’ club, there is a strict vetting system — only eight per cent of applicants are successful.
Speaking about the viral video, Nivine told E! News that said she meant no ill will toward Ben when sharing the clip.
She said: "I'm seeing a lot of comments calling him a creep and l don't think that's fair. l wasn't making fun of him in the video.
"l was making fun of myself for thinking he was a catfish and it was just supposed to be funny."
And while we don't know when the alleged exchange happened between the pair, Ben was recently linked to his ex Jennifer Lopez.
Over the weekend, we reported that a close pal claimed that JLo has "always been friends" with ex Ben, confirming the pair have hung out together following her split with Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez.
The I'm Real songstress, 51, has been spending time with her former partner and Gigli co-star since the break-up with her ex ballplayer fiancé, after rumors she couldn't trust him.
Despite them putting out a joint statement last month, which stated they were "better as friends," it was JLo who ended the relationship.
On Friday, The Sun reported how Ben, 48, and JLo were "secretly hanging out at her LA home."
Now a source has confirmed to People this is the case – and always has been.
A source told the outlet of the former pair: "They are friends. They have always been friends and they have seen each other through the years."
The two have been spending time at her Los Angeles home, and Ben's been seen going there during the day multiple times recently.
The superstar only recently returned to the area after filming her new movie, Shotgun Wedding, in the Dominican Republic.
Ben, 48, has reportedly visited her three times since she's been back.
Sources said the two are just "friendly" and have remained that way since splitting years ago.
Ben and JLo, collectively known as Bennifer, got engaged in November 2002, just a few months after her split from husband Cris Judd.
The two ended up delaying their 2003 wedding, before calling it – and their relationship – off completely at the start of 2004.
Ben split from his recent girlfriend Ana de Armas in January, while JLo and A-Rod announced their split with a joint statement after four years together last month.
