Ben Shephard cringes as Tipping Point player makes embarrassing question slip-up

Tipping Point viewers were aghast after a player made a huge blunder on Wednesday's episode.

It was a contestant named Toby's turn to answer a series of quick-fire questions from presenter Ben Shephard.

Despite a strong start, the player only managed to answer two questions correctly.

Viewers were aghast at one particular blunder the player suffered which left Ben Shephard laughing.

Ben had asked the contestant: "Knotty Pine is a naturally occurring form of which building material?"

A flustered Toby answered "brick", which in fact the correct material is wood.

Viewers were gobsmacked after the gaffe which eventually led to Toby losing out on being today's winner.

One said: "Brick? A naturally occurring building material?"

While another wrote: "Another classic Tipping Point wrong answer, Q "Knotty Pine is a naturally occurring form of which building material", Answer, Brick!"

"I hate it when I have to use those knotty pine bricks", joked a third.

A fourth added: "Pine is a type of brick? I wouldn't trust him to build a house.

A Tipping Point fan recently said her dog hates Ben Shephard and won't let her watch in hilarious TV moment.

This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke to a pet psychic on Tuesday's show, and one viewer rang in and said her dog barks at the presenter when he's hosting the ITV competition.

Phil read out her message while struggling to hold back laughter. He giggled: "Here's a tricky one. Sandra's asked, 'Why does my dog hate Ben Shephard? My dog Millie hates Ben Shephard and Tipping Point,'" before adding: "That's a shame as it's a good show!"

Phil went on: "'She gets hysterical if she sees or hears Ben Shephard on TV. I love Tipping Point but I can't watch it anymore as it's too traumatic for me.'"

The pet psychic, Beth, gave some enlightening answers as to why the dog was so distressed while watching Tipping Point.

She explained: "I don't think she hates Ben Shephard but, what she does pick up on – I don't know if you've got a soft spot for Ben, actually, Sandra – but you get quite excited when it comes on and she picks up on that excitement and those vibes and she gets into an excitable state.

"It might be to do with the name Ben. Look out for that as it comes in a significant way."

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
