'Bridgerton': Get Into These Iconic Fan Theories for Season 2
Shonda Rhimes’ first Netflix series, Bridgerton, is already a massive success. Fans have been enamored by the 19th century set love story, which reimagines the Regency Era while examining what women had to go through in such a rigid, sexist, and misogynist society.
Fans are so delighted that they’ve already been coming up with fan theories for Season 2.

Inside Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’
Rhimes and Chris Van Dusen have teamed up to bring Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novels to the small-screen. Season 1 of the acclaimed Netflix series focused on the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne (Phoebe Dynover)’s debut on the marriage market during the summer of 1813.
When things begin to go awry for Daphne due to Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel)’s meddling, her eldest brother Anthony’s sexism, and the mysterious Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews), Daphne hatches a scheme with her brother’s oldest friend, Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page).
To say that things don’t turn out like either one of them expected would be an understatement.
Season 2 will probably focus on Anthony Bridgerton
Though Netflix has not yet renewed Bridgerton for Season 2, considering its popularity, we can only assume that the news is coming soon. If we look at Quinn’s books for an example, it’s obvious that Season 2 will center Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton.
After all, Anthony’s romance is chronicled in Book 2, The Viscount Who Loved Me. We can also assume that we will be introduced to a new cast of characters, including the Sheffields and their two daughters, Kate and Edwina.
We might not see as much of Daphne and Simon in Season 2 of ‘Bridgerton’
Unfortunately, with so much focus on Anthony and his quest for love, Daphne and Simon might not be center stage any longer. If we do see the dashing couple, we can expect to see how they are figuring things out as parents. This could be particularly intriguing because of Simon’s fear of fatherhood.
Mostly, we want to see how Daphne interacts with Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and the married ladies of society; that was a ton of fun to see.
Eloise could be thrust on the marriage market
As the second eldest Bridgerton sister it’s clear that Eloise (Claudia Jessie) has no desire to marry. Instead, she wants to go to university and have her own money at her disposal. Though she could convince her mother to let her sit out the 1813 marriage market, we doubt she’ll be so lucky moving forward.
Whatever does lay ahead for Eloise, we hope that she gets exactly what she wants.
The Featherington heir will be revealed
With Lord Featherington’s demise and the revelation of Lady Whistledown’s true identity, a mysterious heir is set to take over the Featherington estate.
The Feaheringtown women are now at the mercy of yet another man, and considering their poor fortune for Season 1; we do hope that things turn out more in their favor as the series continues.
With seven more Bridgerton siblings to get through, we’re thrilled to see how this series is set to shake out. We hope that it lives up to the glam and delight of Season 1.
