Coronation Street fans go wild as they recognise Esther star amid Summer baby twist

Coronation Street fans went wild last week after recognising newcomer Esther Hargrave star Vanessa Hehir.

Only recently, Esther has been part of a huge storyline on the cobbles after she offered to adopt pregnant Summer Spellman's baby as she and husband Mike Hargrave can't have kids.

While in upcoming scenes, Esther is left gutted to learn about Summer's planned termination as she offers the youngster money in a bid to change her mind.

To which Summer's guardian Billy Mayhew appears and is horrified to realise that Esther was trying to buy her baby and orders her to leave.

However, viewers have so far been left distracted by the scenes after recognising Esther star Vanessa Hehir from her previous television roles.

Vanessa, 41, is best known for playing Rosie Cartwright in Heartbeat between 2001 to 2007. The actress also starred in Emmerdale as Nurse Summers between 2010 to 2011, Waterloo Road as Sue Lowsley from 2013 to 2014, and Doctors as Kirsten Lind from 2008 to 2009.

Taking to social media, one person said: "Where have I seen the woman before who wants to adopt Summer's baby?" to which a different account replied: "Heartbeat she was called Rosie!"

While another soap watcher added: "Vanessa Hehir, she played Rosie in Heartbeat and Sue in Waterloo Road."

Elsewhere, a different account tweeted: "Rosie from heartbeat and Sue from Waterloo road #corrie."

Another follower said: "Why is Rosie from Heartbeat giving sad Summer advice? #corrie."

While a different account joked: "I can’t take that woman in #corrie who wants to buy Summers baby seriously at all, I mean she’s Rosie from ‘Heartbeat’ last seen heading to ‘Australia’ never to be seen again…"
